The Corporate International Tax internship is located at our headquarters in New York City.  The qualified candidate will be able to work in New York full time from June through August.

 

As an international tax intern, you will be exposed to meaningful projects and will receive significant exposure to Management and our overall business.

 

If you are interested in international tax and using data technologies, the Corporate Tax group offers a great challenge and a tremendous opportunity for professional development.

 

The International Tax Reporting Group gathers financial information from over 200 international subsidiaries and branches, computes US tax attributes, and prepares tax returns as well as computes the quarterly tax provision relating to the international operations. This experience will provide the selected candidate with an introduction to the exciting arena of international tax and global finance.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Collect, reconcile, and process foreign income tax returns and financial statements to submit as evidence to claim the annual US foreign tax credit.

  • Prepare financial analyses such as depreciation schedules, foreign exchange rate spreadsheets, and profit and loss statements for tax related purposes.

  • Perform variance analyses for several worldwide Colgate subsidiaries to identify changes between quarterly projections.

  • Collect detailed financial and tax information submitted by Colgate's foreign subsidiaries; process information received, set up and prepare computations for earnings and profit and taxable income computations, every quarter and during the tax return process.

  • Assist in gathering and setting up computations of deferred tax assets relating to branch fixed assets.

  • Assist in gathering information for building data intensive spreadsheets for special projects.

  • Work on an Action Learning Project (ALP) to be assigned at the beginning of the internship and present results at the end of the internship

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Current Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year student pursuing an Accounting, Tax or Finance undergraduate degree

  • Current minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Satisfactory computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent organizational skills are required

  • Meticulousness with numbers and accuracy

  • Ability to work effectively in teams

 

Compensation

Salary Range $22.00/hr - $23.50/hr  USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location.
