TITLE : Research Scientist (Post-doc) - Toxicologist with expertise in in vitro modeling
LOCATION: Piscataway
Colgate-Palmolive is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Research Scientist to work in a cross-category position within the Oral Research & Innovation Oral Care and Product Safety groups in Global R&D. A successful candidate will specialize in developing and applying advanced in-vitro oral tissue models that accurately predict consumer reactions to oral care formulations, bridging the gap between cellular responses and real-world consumer experiences. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation therapies targeting oral care benefits.
What you will do

Design and execute experiments to investigate the cellular mechanisms of oral tissue irritation and assess the impact of oral care formulations

Investigate and establish correlations between in-vitro cellular responses and consumer perception of sensory attributes

Develop new testing methodologies and protocols to enhance the predictability of product safety and consumer experience.

Analyze and interpret complex experimental data using statistical methods and computational science

Translate complex scientific research into comprehensible information for technical and non-technical audiences and multidisciplinary teams

Prepare and present research findings in written reports, scientific publications and oral presentations.
Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Cell Biology or a closely related field

Experience with in-vitro cell culture techniques and assay development

Background in toxicology principles and risk assessment

Proven ability to design, execute and analyze complex experiments
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with oral tissue models and/or oral care product testing

Knowledge of allergy and immunology principles

Experience with statistical analysis and data interpretation

Publications in peer-reviewed journals related to toxicology, cell biology, or oral care

Strong skills in problem solving, communication (written/verbal) and collaboration with teams
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $79,200.00 - $99,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
