Colgate-Palmolive is searching for a Research Scientist to be part of the Sunscreen Product Development team. They will join a multifaceted and growing product development group responsible for our Premium Skin Health Brands.
What you will do

Work as part of a team on developing and launching global sunscreen and skin care strategic portfolio; formulation expertise for Global markets.

Understand & manage process for substantiating sunscreen and anti-aging product claims

Propose and review claims / support claim substantiation

R&D point of contact with commercial teams

Contribute to the technical sunscreen sales support; White coat interface to accounts, Q&A lists/ Q&A meetings, marketing teamwork for product launches/ relaunches.

Interact closely with R&I to identify new areas of perceived superiority when it comes to efficacy & claims

Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide technical mentorship and support from product brief through launch
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, etc.) or Engineering (Chemical, etc.)

5+ years of experience in R&D

Strong technical background in Sunscreen formula development and evaluation, with ability to guide all development phases from initial concept to commercialization.

Outstanding understanding of product development using UV filters in multiple product formats including lotions, stick, spray, mist, serum, etc.

Experience using formula ingredients to improve sunscreen efficacy using dispersions, film formation, delivery system, etc. while maintaining cosmetically sophisticated products. Track record of generating patentable sunscreen formulations to deliver against strategic innovation priorities.

Expertise in global SPF, UVA, Broad spectrum, etc. testing methods including FDA 21CFR, ISO 24444, ISO 24443 and PFA

Strong project and leadership skills, supporting projects with diverse timelines and goals.

Overall skincare formulation & scale up expertise is an asset including serums, toners, creams, sticks, etc. Product development experience including stability, cosmetic elegance, efficacy, cost, etc. considerations.

Broad lab experience, awareness of analytical techniques, effective multi-functional technical/non technical communication skills, and demonstrate a collaborative approach to internal/external interactions.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $110,000.00 - $128,000.00 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

- Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
