Manager Product Commercialization

The Manager Product Commercialization - Oral Care North America is designed to be the Marketing and Customer Development (Sales) liaison at the Network Operations regional level.

This person will lead the end to end process for oral care products and the associated strategic identification and direction of capital investment. This role will also facilitate portfolio management, including simplification and harmonization.  

Although, this position can at times collaborate with many functions and departments to ensure the implementation of the New Product Pipeline, key interfaces are North America Marketing and Finance, Regional Category Technical and Packaging Managers, Regional Manufacturing Facilities, and Global Category Supply Chain.    

 

Core Responsibilities:

  

1.     Lead End to End Process for New Products

  • New Product Cost Assessment and develop path to profitability- provide New Product costing and help assess a longer term strategy to ensure optimal profitability.

  • New Products Capital Expenditure Budget (CEB) definition- work with Engineering and the plants to define NP Capital spend required and timing and communicate to commercial team for P&L input 

  • Innovation Project management- Work closely with innovation team to understand innovation pipeline and impact to business

  • Product Change- Including any changes for FTG and alternative materials

  • Lead New product timeline definition and implementation- Develop timelines in collaboration with cross functional teams and lead implementation meetings identifying and addressing roadblocks along the way

  • Lead NP Preliminary assessments upon request- work in collaboration but not limited with: Engineering, Packaging Engineers, Tech Managers, Operations to establish a preliminary feasibility study to identify if the project has potential to be developed before engaging additional resources.

  • New artwork change management- ensure new label transitions are driven according to the scope and timeline defined by the initiator.

 

2.      Portfolio Management

  • Product Simplification - Champion efforts in regional formula and packaging harmonization / standardization to reduce costs and improve factory flexibility and service.  Manage an active process for SKU portfolio review. 

  • Core Portfolio Management- Identify and maintain core portfolio with the commercial team

  • Collaborate with other NetOps leads for external manufacturing and Sourcing design and strategy- ensure seamless communication between other capability groups to ensure we meet all the business requirements

 

Required Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. Degree 

  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience 

  • 2+ years experience in planning and/or operations

  • Ability to effectively convey ideas, updates, and feedback to team members

  • Building and maintaining relationships with team members
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Leading and motivating a team towards achieving commercialization goals.
  • Adaptability - Being open to change and able to pivot strategies based on customer / consumer feedback or unforeseen challenges

 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree preferred 

  • MBA a plus; studies in logistics & systems desired 

  • 2 years of manufacturing/plant experience 

  • International experience is an advantage 

  • Prior experience in R&D and/or other GSC functions


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $115,200.00 - $163,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements

  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
