Summary of the Position

Responsible for maintaining the tax compliance of the legal entities in Central America in coordination with the Tax Center of Expertise as well as actively lead the VAT recovery (IVA - Regimen Especial Electrónico), providing support to commercial and finance teams in regards to tax matters and reporting the tax information to Corporate for consolidation purposes. Leveraging various resources by improving tax processes, adopting new technologies, supporting tax audits and the tax litigations process if applicable while maximazing tax saving opportunities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of Transfer Pricing Compliance in Central America

  • Lead the VAT on exports recovery process in Guatemala

  • Collaborate with the local and regional finance teams to communicate tax reforms or changes in regulations and the related impact on tax reporting and compliance obligations.  

  • Participate in tax audits and other regulatory inquiries of tax authorities and municipalities if applicable

  • Preparation of books, issue and filing of tax returns for Value Added, Income and Withholding Tax

  • Prepare the provision of income tax

  • Comply with SOX Controls and Financial Policies  

  • Support in special projects such as new system implementations, electronic invoice upgrade, new business, cash flow initiatives among others

  • Reporting of tax information for consolidation purposes to Corporate  

  • Develop and implement tax process improvements

 

What do you need for the Position?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Certified Accountant or Finance Degree

  • At least 3 years of tax preparation and reporting experience within a Public Accounting firm or a corporate tax department, experience providing tax audit support

  • English basic- Intermediate

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tax Compliance 

  • Experience in Transfer Pricing 

  • Experience in the Consumer goods industry.
