What is your role as a Packaging Engineer Intern?

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Packaging Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team at Hill's. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work under the direct guidance of our food industry experts. You will gain practical experience in package development, co-lead line trials, and collaborate with various teams including marketing, R&D, Quality, Engineering to name a few. 

You will be assigned a specific project which will be "your project". You will have the chance to apply your technical knowledge and your soft skills while learning the importance and the beauty of the team work.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support in the development of new package components, including creating detailed specifications.
  • Review, create and align pack test procedures and protocols
  • Participate and co-lead packaging trials at our manufacturing facilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and outside suppliers to ensure seamless project execution
  • Present results to the packaging engineering team upon completion of the term

 

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a HBO Bachelor program in Food Packaging, Packaging, Material Science or a related field
  • Good knowledge of the English language both written and spoken is mandatory, Dutch language is a plus
  • Proactive and a strong communicator
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively in cross-functional and cross cultural teams
  • Proficiency in Google platforms (gmail, docs, sheets, slides, calandar, drive) is a plus
  • A passion for pet nutrition and the pet care industry is a plus
