What you will do

  • Formula development of personal care products, stability evaluation, evaluation of formula properties and communication of results with other functions.
  • Assist in the conceptualization, design, management and data analysis of assigned projects, under general supervision.
  • Find new technologies to translate consumer insights into finished methods and products using sound scientific principles.
  • Conduct preliminary feasibility assessments on new technology, conduct basic foundation research, lab performance evaluation and request clinical trials.
  • Conduct assigned activities/projects, with self-management as necessary.
  • Manage assigned projects and activities without compromising timelines.
  • Lead by example.
  • Summarize product and process development learning, and communicate results through research reports, invention records, presentations to management and business partners, etc.
  • Compile data required to ensure and conduct efficient technology transfer.
  • Ensure assigned activities are conducted and documented according to Quality requirements and systems; implement applicable preventive or corrective actions; ensure students and/or technicians collaborating in assigned projects execute and document activities according to Quality requirements and systems.
  • Ensure and maintain accurate documentation such as notebooks, necessary Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and bundle books.
  • Understand and use safe handling procedures for corrosive chemicals, gases, high pressure steam, flammable solvents, and fine particle size powders.
  • Comply with and coordinate/execute Good Manufacturing Practices and Environmental Affairs, Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) activities; takes preventive and corrective actions to mitigate potential EOHS or Quality incidents.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor: Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Material Science or Biotechnology 

  •  2-5 years of relevant laboratory experience

  • 2-5 Years of Consumer Goods Industry Experience 

  • 2-5 Years of Functional Experience 

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Academic publications

  • Master's Degree on Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Material Science, or Biotechnology with 2 years experience

  • Knowledge of analytical, rheology, emulsion chemistry, surfactants and mixing

  • Knowledge of Minitab and Document management software
