Assistant Scientist - Personal Care PD

We are looking for a Research Scientist who is passionate about Personal Care Product Development (PD) research. 

 

What you will do: 

  • Support development of Personal Care Body Cleansing Liquid products for global markets.

  • Develop PD formulations that address the challenges of shipping across global borders/divisions by staying abreast of latest regulatory/legal directives. Including lab batching, stability, robustness in-vitro testing, consumer & clinical testing ensuring accurate documentation such as lab notebooks, SOPs and claims dossiers.

  • Operate/be familiar with various appropriate instrumentation or equipment for various analyses.

  • Have thorough knowledge of laboratory and process technology center techniques and equipment, and assist in developing/improving product evaluation methods, procedures, and processes.

  • Collect, record, analyze and interpret test data. Explain any factors affecting reliability or accuracy of test data.

  • Manage assigned projects and activities without compromising timelines.

  • Execute methods for validation, scale-up and technology transfer of product prototypes 

  • Support claim substantiation; develop demos and provide “white coat” communication to Customer Development/ Retailers

  • Conduct competitive landscape research to help build innovation roadmaps, including patent, scientific papers and marketed products across the globe

  • Lead & support collaboration efforts with external partners/suppliers 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to achieve project goals including R&D partners:Cross Category Research & Innovation, Fragrance, Microbiology, Packaging, Quality, Regulatory, Statistics,Safety and Technology Insights, Marketing and Supply Chain across divisions.

  • Communicate results of research, both internally as well as via external publications/presentations and patents/IRs.

  • Understand and use safe handling procedures for corrosive materials, gasses, solvents and fine particle size powders

  • Ensure equipment is functioning as designed and maintain its proper functions and promptly communicates when issues arise. 

  • Ensure assigned activities are conducted and documented according to Quality requirements and systems; implement applicable preventive or corrective actions.

  • Perform selected Quality and Environmental Affairs, Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) tasks as per team’s Quality plan; ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and EOHS practices are followed in the work area.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Sciences, Chemical Engineering or related science. 

  • 1+ years laboratory experience Product Development and/or Implementation & Support 

  • Good knowledge in Product Development based research, evaluation, testing and scale-up; Knowledge in surfactant chemistry, GMPs, general lab instruments (pH meter, rheometer, mixers etc),   

  • Good knowledge of computer systems and software 

  • Very good written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English, for both technical and business professionals 

  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills

  • Strong problem solving skills 

  • Strong project management and execution skills 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Preferred experience in Personal/Skin Care
