Role Description

The Brand Manager is responsible for developing current and long-range marketing plans for designated products or categories.  These plans may include managing personnel and business financials, including overseeing the annual budget.  Responsibility includes:

 

  • Build annual budgets and financial plans, and tracking progress against those plans throughout the year
  • Develop and execute multi-year category growth strategies leveraging product development and marketing innovation
  • Present brand strategy and activity recommendations to management for review and direction setting
  • Manage product innovations from concept development through commercialization or in some instances, commercialize innovations transitioned from upstream product development team
  • Manage  brand equity considerations as input to driving business decisions
  • Partner with Customer Development to commercialize new products, execute other key marketing initiatives, and develop customer-specific growth plans
  • Partner with Insights community to mine relevant consumer and customer insights ; execute research plans as needed to guide business decisions and validate opportunities
  • Define priorities for people and financial investment
  • Coach and develop others to strengthen organizational capability and provide individual professional growth opportunity

 

Role Requirements:

  • MBA required
  • 3+ years of professional experience packaged goods / CPG marketing or relevant business environment
  • Experience engaging / partnering directly with customers to build and execute mutually beneficial solutions
  • Proven track record of delivering against business objectives and/or sales targets
  • Strong data-driven strategic analysis and strategy development skills
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to embrace change; willingness to be flexible
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable with working with cross-functional teams and various levels of management
