What you will do:
- Develop fundamental aspects of project management: participate in basic project definition, support in project planning, initial capital expenditure management, and assist in technology transfer associated with capital projects, new materials, and new products under direct management supervision.
- Support design, specification, and installation: assist with start-up, troubleshooting, and improvement of equipment and systems, with guidance and support from senior team members.
- Develop and maintain basic technical documentation: help in drafting specifications and procedures for processes and equipment aligned with factory performance and reliability goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Serve as a support resource: collaborate with operations and quality teams on issues related to design changes, processes, and equipment modifications, receiving feedback to drive continuous improvement under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Assist in ensuring compliance: support in ensuring compliance with Colgate-Palmolive standards and local, state, and federal guidelines related to Safety, Quality, and Regulatory requirements.
- Develop new insights: contribute to innovative engineering and processing solutions under guidance to reduce costs and improve process capability and quality.
- Participate in design decisions: engage in design decisions to ensure projects meet quality, cost, service, and environmental health and safety criteria, and learn to effectively manage third-party contractors and engineering design firms.
- Develop, validate, and transfer standard procedures: support the transfer of standard operating procedures associated with new products, packaging, and process improvements.
- Collaborate in plant floor systems controls: work with suppliers, internal stakeholders, procurement, and engineers to understand plant floor systems controls.
- Integrate with Corporate IT and GIT: ensure alignment on information technology systems under the direction of the IT team.
- Drive company values and principles of managing with respect in daily business affairs.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Food Science or related technical field or completion within 6 months of hire

6 months of functional experience in manufacturing.

6 months of project management.

Prior experience with manufacturing of consumer goods products or food manufacturing

A working knowledge of production processes and control systems.

Working knowledge of Quality standards required.

Working knowledge of Environmental Occupational Health and Safety standards.

Teamwork orientation with excellent interpersonal and team skills.

Strong technical communication skills.
-
Able to support a 24 hour operation including weekends and holidays based on project demands.
Preferred:
-
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and validation

Knowledge of the Capital Procurement preferred
-
Prior experience with food safety requirements and standards

Continuous improvement and/or lean six sigma experience or certification.

Experience in SAP (Systems Applications and Products)

Advance degree in Engineering or related field
