Job Purpose :
- The Outbound Logistics Manager optimizes distribution and delivery processes to minimize costs and ensure efficiency in delivering products to customers. This role drives growth and efficiency by collaborating with both external and internal teams to enhance delivery processes, reduce service costs, and implement innovative logistics solutions. The role requires knowledge in distribution strategies and will serve as the subject matter expert on outbound logistics and customer delivery. As a subject matter expert, the role ensures all activities align with Colgate’s best practices and standards.
Core Responsibilities :
- Manage day-to-day monitoring of outbound logistics operations, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of products to customers.
- Accountable for outbound logistics cost optimization. Ensures accurate processes are in place for capturing and reporting of costs, organizes regular cost reviews with necessary parties.
- Drive growth and efficiency improvements by collaborating with 3PLs and Customer Development team to minimize cost to serve, improve delivery performance, and implement process innovations.
- Coordinate with Warehouse Managers and Customer Engagement teams to ensure synchronized departure and arrival of shipments to meet customer demands.
- Provide weekly and monthly updates on the delivery situation, including any disruptions or trends in the logistics market.
- Evaluate potential or new delivery routes for network optimization and cost minimization.
- Work closely with procurements during freight bidding processes, providing valuable insights and recommendations to select the best logistics partners.
- Collaborate with Procurement Services to gain insights on freight and delivery cost models to ensure that the company aligns with industry standard methodologies.
- Work with local Finance and CBS to analyze monthly distribution costs and review routing guides, quarterly costing, and analysis of delivery cost variances.
- Prepare the Distribution Cost budget and provide regular financial forecasts.
- Drive standardization and automation of outbound logistics processes and tools for continuous improvement.
- Identify and set strategic and operational critical metrics for the 3PLs as aligned with Colgate-Palmolive’s business requirements
Leadership/Supervision :
- Individual Contributor role
Education Required :
- Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field
Requirements :
- Minimum of 5 years of combined experience in Manufacturing or Customer Services & Logistics (CS&L) focus on Outbound Logistics
- Third party logistics management of Freight Forwarders experience will be a plus
- Experience and knowledge in handling databases and basic coding skills an advantage
Skills Required :
- In-depth knowledge in SAP Distribution
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail
- Able to plan, prioritize, and flexible to changes
- High proficiency in Google Applications (Doc, Sheets, Slides)
