The Plant Procurement Specialist supports the Direct Materials supply strategy, ensuring that the local, divisional and global policies, required to follow Colgate's Total Cost, Quality, Service & Sustainability expectations, are flawlessly met.

 

Position Scope:

Responsible for analyzing overall data to make data driven decisions during the purchasing process and resolving service and quality issues for the plant. Will ensure the identification, implementation and maintenance of the lowest “total cost” supply strategies with the best possible service and quality for all materials required by internal customers.  Will also support and implement the strategies developed by the global Category Manager and the Regional Category Procurement Manager. Also can support Regional initiatives defined as part of their development and connecting his experience.

Will support FTG generation and implementation.  Will be the key support for the local Supply Chain management with respect to FTG, supplier issues, quality improvement, technical projects, supply opportunities etc.

Responsible for Costing Cycles, deep diving into the Commodities Fearless Forecast and Future Cost Planning. Will lead the inputs in the Exhibit K (Financial)  file and its projections.

Develops detailed understanding of local market structure and drivers for materials, with risk management overview, and finds opportunities. Also, responsible to deliver high impact presentations to drive and influence decision making among Supply Chain and business Partners.

 

Principal Responsibilities: 

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive procurement strategy for raw materials and aligned with the organization's goals.  
  • Accountable for the Purchasing Key Performance Indicators  and working with the local Supply Chain
  • Drives effective negotiations for specific local raw materials
  • Implements and supervises the Procurement budget and financials for the specific materials of responsibility
  • Accountable for optimizing raw material inventories against Customer Service and working capital targets
  • Ensures the highest level of Customer Service is provided to our Customers through the development and maintenance of order replenishment best practices
  • Works with suppliers’ sales, technical and other functional groups as well as Colgate Supply Chain, Technology, Marketing and Finance functions to enforce Purchasing policies, resolves issues, aligns service, ensure sustainability and governance compliance and financial strategies
  • Together with New Product launch teams, ensures new products are implemented efficiently
  • Contributes to local Funding the Growth Programs and support Local and Regional Risk Management platforms for materials under responsibility
  • Uses SAP in day-to-day function, including entering prices into the system (where responsible)
  • Implements efforts in using “e-tools” (auctions, e-Savings, etc.) to help drive Funding the Growth, simplification and standardization programs
  • Coordinates implementation of SMI with appropriate suppliers for the relevant plant
  • Accountable for adhering to Colgate-Palmolive, and governmental guidelines related to EOHS, Quality, and Regulatory for materials of responsibility.  Develops awareness, and influences compliance with local government laws and regulations pertaining to materials 
  • Continues to improve oneself by way of training, information sharing, mentor and feedback, appraisals, delegation and implementing best practices
  • Reinforce foundational supply assurance by reducing single source risk, ensuring dual qualification for new items, and reviewing business continuity plans with key suppliers in all stages of procurement.

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • B.A./B.S. Degree in a Technical or Business Field, CPM or related 
  • Experience in Purchasing, or materials or production planning
  • SAP and ARIBA experience
  • Advance english level
