As part of the Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Systems team, you will manage the Manufacturing Systems portion of the digital roadmap within the geographical region, coordinating the efforts of local Plant Systems teams to ensure successful delivery.

 

Your responsibilities will include leading the implementation and management of all digital initiatives in the region, enforcing standards to ensure global consistency of manufacturing systems and providing training and coaching to build system competencies at plant sites. Additionally, you will identify and communicate best practices, and collaborate closely with plant directors and regional quality, engineering, FP&R, and GIT teams to define new, more efficient processes and system capabilities for the plants

 

Other key responsibilities also include managing and elevating technical issues within the region, enforcing cybersecurity policies and ensuring that all necessary remediation activities are properly planned and implemented. 

 

Essential Functions

Strategy & Project Delivery

  • Manage the Manufacturing Systems portion of the digital roadmap within the geographical region.
  • Lead the implementation and management of all digital initiatives in the region to ensure successful delivery of the site/regional roadmaps.
  • Identify, encourage, and deploy new manufacturing systems projects.
  • Collaborate closely with plant directors and regional quality, engineering, FP&R, and GIT teams to define new, more efficient processes and system capabilities for the plants.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate technical training sessions to address training gaps.
  • Mentor, train, and foster a global mindset within local plant systems teams.
  • Conduct quarterly regional meetings.

Cybersecurity, Standards, Best Practices

  • Enforce global systems and cybersecurity standards within the region.
  • Approve system access requests.
  • Support plants with navigating GIT request processes and escalate when necessary.
  • Ensure completion of quarterly security checklists.
  • Identify and communicate systems related best practices within the region or from other regions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the resolution of any system-related issues and mitigate downtime impacts by escalating issues to appropriate teams.
  • Communicate and manage budgets related to hardware and software upgrades and the manufacturing systems obsolescence management process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

What you need for this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering, Computer Science or other related degree
  • At least 10 years Engineering, Automation, Supply Chain Operations, and/or IT Supply Chain
  • Proven track record of project management
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing operations and core processes
  • Ability to configure and maintain manufacturing software products such as HMI development, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), ISA-88 Batching software and historian software.  AVEVA (Wonderware) product knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), preferably using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of SAP usage and SAP Transactions: Production Orders, Production Confirmations, Material Movements (Goods Receipts and Goods Issues), SAP Quality Management
  • Knowledge of:  Production Planning and Scheduling, Inventory Management, Planned Maintenance Concepts, Statistical Process Control (SPC) Concepts, Plant Floor Control System Concepts, Operational Excellence Standards and Metrics
  • Strong team building and training skills

It’s an advantage to have:

  • Experience with leading regional projects
  • Experience with working in a matrix organization
  • Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and industrial instrumentation
  • Basic knowledge of SAP MII software.
  • Basic knowledge of analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau, Domo, SQL Reporting Services
