Are you passionate about data accuracy, integrity and quality? The Hill’s US CRM team is seeking an experienced CRM Data Analyst to join our cross-functional digital marketing team. In this role, you’ll be at the center of owning our data that drives our data-led marketing strategies across the US for our Pet Parents and Professionals. In this position, you’ll keep a close eye on our first party database; keeping our US team members up to date on data quality & health as well as collaborating with our global teams. Your focus will be managing consumer data integration lifecycles, defining schemas/ingestion layouts, conducting routine audits to maintain flow continuity and data accuracy, and analyzing/reporting the performance of acquisition touchpoints and campaigns. Data is at the heart of everything we do on the US CRM team!
What You Will Do:
Data Validation (60%)
- Develop, review and optimize validation procedures and protocols.
- Define schemas for all new sources while adhering to governance guidelines and best practices.
- Validate data as business owner and ensure accuracy across all sources using queries specific to each data platform and developing SQL queries as needed.
- Automate and improve timeliness & cleanliness of data flow with vendors and IT.
- Track and monitor data ingestion issues and work with sources/vendors/IT on solutions.
- Partner with GIT (Global IT) and CRM teams throughout the process of security, privacy, and architecture reviews, planning and validating data mapping, and performing data validation in test, sandbox, and production environments.
- Completing ad hoc data validation for data sources in the case of changes to data sources, fixes to data flow issues, and transitions to APIs.
- Act as point person for any issues identified with our database, including data flow issues with any of our internal or external data sources, issues regarding formatting or usage of data within Blueconic or Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).
- Create target audience segment automations in Salesforce Marketing Cloud for our email deployments, ensuring audiences are up to date and valid for each deployment
- Audience segment creation in CDP (Blueconic and/or Salesforce Data Cloud)
- Conduct weekly journey validation to ensure leads are flowing through email journeys accurately
- Complete monthly lead gen calculation with vendors
Insights & Analytics (30%)
- Develop and write SQL queries to support analytics and reporting for CRM reporting and analysis, monthly reporting, journey deep dive reporting, and ad-hoc reporting needs
- Query CDP and relational databases to troubleshoot and problem solve data led questions
- Support CRM team and 1P database with data queries and analysis to support key Data driven decisions for key Digital transformation initiatives and Mar-Tech tools and platforms,
- Problem Solve and troubleshoot data discrepancies between databases, files, consumer profiles, and marketing campaigns as issues arise
- Developing queries, building segments, writing AmpScript, and reporting in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Developing queries, building segments, and exporting data from BlueConic CDP
- Conduct routine analysis and report on performance of acquisition sources.
- Identify opportunities to capture more data either explicitly, inferrably, or through assigning new metadata to acquisition sources.
- Work with IT on modeling of data for performance dashboard visualizations.
- Assist US media team by creating 1P audiences from our database to be utilized in ad campaigns
Operational Execution (10%)
- Create standard operating procedures for CRM data validation.
- Clean manual data extracts and apply proper schemas before ingestion.
- Codify/document data mapping and table relationships within query environments.
- Own and update data catalogue, lead tracking, weekly data validation and other data validation operational responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, computer science, data, analytics, information systems, data management
- 3+ years of experience in data management, data analysis, data validation, data analytics, or data governance preferred
- Proven experience as a data analyst, data steward or similar data manager role
- Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Automation Studio
- Strong communication, collaboration, accountability and passion for high quality work
- Detailed oriented - always on the lookout for a data anomaly
- Ability to work autonomously and with a group of individuals
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of data mining, data profiling, data warehousing, data modeling and data integration. Must be familiar with different database structures
- Experience using and pulling data from a CDP
- Basic knowledge of laws and regulations for data and AI including privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA.
- Familiarity with Agile Methodology and SCRUM in order to provide input into estimating and executing engagement activities
- Experience using data quality tools such as Atlan
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
