Job Purpose

In today’s dynamic retail environment, it is an exciting time to be part of the Consumer Experience team at Colgate-Palmolive.  Our energetic team is dedicated to crafting value for our customers, consumers and for our own business in this constantly evolving landscape.  

As part of the Consumer Experience team, you will build & deliver compelling stories for Customers that provide insight into how shopper behaviours are influencing our categories.  You will be recognised as the impartial category authority, a growth consultant for our Buyers; responsible for highlighting opportunities, developing and delivering initiatives that will drive category & brand growth & differentiate Colgate-Palmolive from its competition. You will be an important link between our Consumer Experience team and CDM/KAMs; working with the local Norwegian team as well as category experts in other markets to learn and share opportunities.

As master of your own destiny, you will forge your own, important, customer relationships based on thought leadership, turning analytics into insights and great customer service. You will collaborate widely through the use of category intelligence, shopper-centric insights and a sound understanding of the business challenges in order to deliver an outstanding category service.
 

What you will do

  • Identify & develop (shopper insight led) category & brand growth plans and customer propositions that grow our customers’ business and increase Colgate-Palmolive market share.
  • Build & develop independent relationships with customers, establishing Colgate-Palmolive as the go to key partner for objective category & shopper insights.
  • Proactively identify commercial opportunities. Work with Customer Development & Consumer Experience teams to implement solid 5P recommendations & tactics that drive growth.
  • Develop a consistent category management approach, leading and utilising the tools created to enable Colgate-Palmolive to provide outstanding approach to key touch points with customers (range review, planograms etc.)
  • Work cross functionally to develop and externalise category strategies for Oral Care, Personal Care and Home Care to unlock category growth for Colgate-Palmolive and our retail partners.  Provide key input into the direction & implementation of NPD.
  • Share category expertise across the wider business community to deepen customer & category understanding.
  • Adapt, implement & champion on-going dialogue & execution of our Category Growth Drivers with customers. Develop customer specific growth plans (internally and externally).
  • Implement relevant shelf solutions, navigation or shopper marketing elements to drive value creation within our categories.
  • Ensure exemplary category development principles are delivered day in, day out.

  • You are a juggler – you are tenacious & flexible in your ability to set, juggle and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, dynamic retail environment.  You are consistent under pressure, remain clear on your priorities and can organise your own workload.
  • You are a shopper champion – you put the shopper at the heart of everything you do and maximise category sales potential through a shopper-centric approach.
  • You are a deliverer of results – your track record demonstrates your ability to deliver category & customer business plans that benefit both Colgate-Palmolive and our customers.

 

What you need to have:

  • Full competency in a wide range of data sources (Nielsen, Kantar,  Dunnhumby, REMA Connect etc.).
  • Solid understanding of Norwegian retailers 
  • Strong commercial understanding
  • Proficient in written & spoken Norwegian & English
  • 3+ years category, customer management experience or other relevant experience (ideally in FMCG)
