We are looking for a Compliance/Senior Compliance Counsel to provide compliance-related advice and counsel to global business partners and the Global Legal Organization. In this role, you will provide expertise regarding U.S. and foreign laws and regulations applicable to the conduct of the Company’s business, including the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and foreign anti-bribery laws, laws related to trade sanctions and export controls, as well as the Company’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. 

 

What you will do: 

  • Develop, implement, and manage compliance programs, including creating training materials, drafting policies and procedures, and leading compliance initiatives to ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Coordinate and conduct privileged investigations into legal and policy violations, collaborating with outside counsel as necessary, and provide compliance support for business activities such as mergers and acquisitions, vendor selection, and third-party compliance reviews
  • Maintain and improve internal compliance tools and systems, stay informed on data analytics best practices within the compliance sector, and facilitate compliance audits in conjunction with the Corporate Audit Department
  • Supervise Division Compliance Counsel and subsidiary legal teams, ensuring effective management and guidance on compliance matters
  • Monitor and stay updated on legal, regulatory, and enforcement developments related to compliance, and serve as a key legal advisor to the Corporate GLO Team and Division General Counsels
  • Collaborate with the Global Ethics & Compliance function to provide counsel on investigations, support ethical leadership training development, manage third-party risk, and contribute to the Company’s Compliance Programs and E&C-led initiatives


What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree, JD, and NY Bar admission
  • 5 to 10 years legal experience in regulatory, white collar or compliance-related practices, such as counseling on FCPA and other related anti-bribery laws, conducting white collar/corporate investigations, or advising on compliance programs generally, either as an attorney in a law firm, corporation or governmental agency
  • Knowledge of the consumer products business and prior in-house experience are a plus


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $150,000.00 - $195,000.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
