The Experience

 

The role is responsible for creating and driving strategic sourcing for all the Packaging materials bought with enterprise-wide responsibilities for the procurement strategies of Packaging direct spend categories as well as collaboration with multiple Business Units to secure optimal purchasing opportunities . Strategic business partner, interfacing Packaging teams, Manufacturing teams of the company, This position is also responsible for driving continuous improvement of procurement processes throughout Colgate India and its subsidiaries and provides expertise to business leaders in planning and implementing supply chain strategies to achieve business goals and objectives. 

 

Main Responsibilities: 

Procurement planning 

Study trends in Direct for new products or modifications to existing product and Marketing for category business projection 
Examine critical commodity price such resins, paperboards, and anticipate its movements in the mid to long-term, and the consequent impact on the company’s cost structure
Map existing supplier base and analyze the number of new vendors required to be able to generate cost leverages and limit the company’s exposure to supply fluctuations
Prepare procurement strategy for the mid to long-term, under the guidance of division category Supply Chain team and India leadership 

 

Monitoring and Review 

​Oversee the e-auction process, monitor the achievement of benchmark prices, and conduct negotiations on a one-on-one basis if the e-auction process is not successful
Review compliance to the established approval matrix 
Track cost of materials ensure achievement of savings targets

Develop and execute risk Mitigation strategy 
 

Evaluation of suppliers 

Conduct periodic assessments such as Enhanced Supplier Management, and Social Responsibility and Security Assessment for existing suppliers.
Identify potential suppliers and evaluate them on technical, financial, supplier market benchmarks, Colgate global quality, and reliability parameters 

Review the terms and conditions before signing the contract with suppliers, including for global contracts, to ensure that company interests have been protected adequately 

 

Process improvement and change management

Identify efficiency projects under the Fund to Growth initiative such as buying optimization, import substitution, etc. 
Guide teams towards implementation by setting up a plan and conducting periodic reviews 
Lead the change management process and ensure company readiness to accept and adopt the changes to way of doing business which arise due to the above steps 
Work on sustainability initiatives in packaging along with suppliers actively support the organization for all major plastic and paper sustainability initiatives

 

Required Qualifications: 

MBA in Operations 
At least 8+ years of experience 
Ability for Cross Cultural collaboration and Influence 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Preferably worked in Cross Country Sourcing in FMCG companies
