About The Role
 
As a Senior Category Management Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving Colgate-Palmolive's category management expertise, developing strategic partnerships, and ensuring excellence in execution. Your primary responsibilities will include deploying category strategies where CP is advisor, leading the RCD team to ensure the Catman Process implementation with our Customers, leveraging data-driven insights to support the Category Reviews & Selling story.
 
Main Responsibilities: 
 

  • Develop and deliver compelling Capabilities Presentations to showcase our category management expertise and secure commitment from key accounts.
  • Regularly update and maintain an account/category prioritization grid to strategically focus resources on high-impact areas.
  • Complete and maintain best practice templates for all core categories, ensuring readiness for each stage of the category management process.
  • Create and coordinate motivating strategic presentations for all stages of the process to drive category and business growth.
  • Organize and sustain motivation levels in cross-functional teams responsible for developing category templates, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
  • Conduct regular reviews with the Category Management Team by account to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Manage and maintain high-quality, timely analysis as part of the category partnership process to become integral to the account's business.
  • Continuously infuse key learnings and shopper insights into daily business operations through networking and regular status updates.
  • Coordinate field tests and the rollout of implementation plans, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of progress and issues.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of tests against control stores to understand the impact of tactics and improve category demand drivers.
  • Build a database of "Category Management Success Stories" with robust quantitative and qualitative data to bolster internal and external presentations.
  • Encourage partner accounts to provide in-depth data to enhance market understanding and work with Systems to develop an efficient, accessible data structure.

 
Business Planning/Account Teams:

  • Support Channel Specialists and Account teams by preparing tailored, data-driven category presentations.
  • Use consumer decision tree and category evaluation findings to develop generic planograms, adapting them to account-specific strategies and performance.
  • Provide proactive merchandising guidance to enhance category management credibility and brand exposure.
  • Assist Field Sales, Consumer Marketing, and Channel teams in merchandising support requests to ensure success at the shelf.

 

Driven Activity

  • Supervise competitive activity in category management and report insights to the Customer Marketing Director.

 

Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage the annual category management budget, covering all relevant activities including shopper insights, data purchases, training, consultant support, and more.

 
Basic Qualifications: 
 

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • At least +3 years of experience as CATMAN or similar roles.
  • Experience leading Teams, clients and projects
  • Strong Storytelling skills 
  • Experience managing Nielsen and/or Kantar
  • Google Suite Proficiency 
  • Excel Proficiency 
  • English Proficiency
  • Experience managing Space planning and/or Spaceman
