Job Summary: 

 

The Logistics and Transportation Coordinator is responsible for planning and monitoring transportation operations, processing orders through the system, and effectively liaising with carriers. This role requires strong analytical skills, leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to resolve issues and communicate service failures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrate stress management, and collaborate effectively with teams.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Monitor the system for new order activities.
  2. Utilize Transportation Management System (TMS) to consolidate orders and deliveries into optimized shipments and select carriers in compliance with routing guide commitments.
  3. Coordinate with international suppliers, including shipping lines, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation carriers.
  4. Communicate detailed shipment information to selected carriers and monitor their responses to tendered shipments.
  5. Take alternate actions in case of carrier refusals to ensure timely deliveries.
  6. Track and trace existing orders through delivery completion.
  7. Proactively communicate service failures by carriers to affected internal customers (Order-to-Invoice, Supply Network Planning, Distribution Centers, Plants).
  8. Resolve carrier service issues by determining and executing alternative delivery methods.
  9. Track and report carrier performance data to facilitate service level improvements, including tender acceptance rates and on-time arrivals/deliveries.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Education in International Commerce, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, and/or customer service roles.
  • Proficient in using Google tools, Excel, and macros (scripts).

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Ability to manage stress and adapt easily to change.
  • Team player with a resilient and open-minded approach.
  • Self-learner with strong leadership skills.
