Interaction with other healthcare groups like hospital nurses, homecare nurses, and pharmacy staff is also occasionally part of the role.
Operating alongside a team comprised of another Oral Care Consultant and an Oral Health Liaison Specialist across clearly defined territories (East/West), the Oral Care Consultant is essential for boosting brand demand and enhancing sales within the professional products range.
What you will do:

- Engage with Dental Professionals: Develop and maintain relationships with dentists, hygienists, and dental therapists to promote awareness and use of Colgate products, including conducting educational visits and providing product samples.
- Drive Product Prescriptions and Recommendations: Focus on increasing the prescription rates of Duraphat RX by educating dental professionals about patients risk groups linked to product benefit and efficacy.
- Educational Presentations: Support Oral Health Liaison Specialist at educational seminars and fairs for dental professionals and independently execute student lectures to build product knowledge and generate endorsements.
- Plan and Prioritize Visits: Create and execute detailed plans for daily and weekly visits to dental practices and institutions, ensuring optimal coverage and effectiveness in your designated territory.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of interactions and customer data in the company’s CRM system to track progress and inform strategic decisions.
- Adherence to Guidelines: Follow company protocols and guidelines, including reporting adverse events as per Colgate’s vigilance policies.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work effectively with other Oral Care Consultants, Oral Health Liaison Specialist and the Professional Business Manager to align on goals and strategies.
- Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated on the latest industry trends and product innovations through ongoing training and development.
Who you are:
- Consumer/Customer Focus: A deep understanding of and responsiveness to the needs and expectations of dental professionals to build trust and long-lasting relationships.
- Effective Communication: Ability to clearly articulate product benefits, technical details, and educational content to diverse groups, including dental professionals and students.
- Influencing and Negotiating: Skills to persuade dental professionals to recommend and prescribe products, leveraging evidence-based recommendations and building strong relationships.
- Planning and Priority Setting: Capable of organizing and prioritizing activities effectively to manage time and resources optimally across a defined territory.
- Relationship Building: Establishing and nurturing professional relationships with various stakeholders in the dental field, including practitioners, educators, and students.
- Problem-Solving: Addressing challenges and obstacles in the territory with creative and effective solutions to achieve business objectives.
- Adaptability and Learning Agility: Willingness to learn from experiences and adapt to changes in market dynamics, products, and corporate strategies.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Working effectively within a team, sharing insights, and supporting colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Product and Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive onboarding will be provided on Colgate’s product technology, however a background within the dental or pharma industry will be an advantage.
