Job purpose

We are looking for a talented financial accountant to join our Nordic finance team and play a key role in our financial reporting processes.  Supporting the Nordic Financial Controller, the financial accountant will help manage our internal and external reporting and maintain strong financial controls.  The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have strong analytical skills and a desire to learn.  The work is mainly deadline driven so effective time management skills will also be essential.

What you will do:

  • Ensuring a smooth month end closing process including journal entries and month end reconciliations (supported by our shared service centres)
  • Reporting local VAT & other periodical external reporting for Denmark, Norway & Sweden
  • Assisting the AP team with queries about vendors and payments
  • Assisting the preparation of annual statutory accounts and tax calculations and providing information to the auditors
  • Assisting SOX compliance including testing and detailing internal controls 
  • Monitoring travel expense payments and ensuring compliance with the local T&E policy
  • Liaising between the local commercial office and the offshore accounting teams
  • Assisting the commercial finance team with ad hoc tasks and routine reporting
     

Required Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree within finance and accounting
  • At least 2 years Proficient knowledge on GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS (as applicable) and other local standards
  • You have previous experience of financial reporting either from a professional accounting firm or from a similar position
  • You enjoy an international environment and working across multiple teams
  • You have hands-on experience working with SAP or similar ERP system
  • You know how to work in Excel - knowledge of Google Sheets is an advantage.
  • You are proficient in at least one Nordic language and you have strong English speaking and writing skills
  • You are structured, have very strong attention to detail and enjoy working in a fast paced environment
