Associate Finance Manager - Pet Channel

Job summary:

The Associate Finance Manager provides finance-based direction to the US Pet Channel Teams. This is accomplished by managing financial & accounting functions for the Pet Channel Customer Development Teams (CDT’s) which includes the following: Neighborhood Pet, Farm, Pet Specialty, and Special Retail. Net sales associated with this group of accounts are projected at approximately $195MM.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial & accounting analysis for the Pet Channel CDT’s including volume and spend forecasting, ASP and margin management, promotional spend ROI analysis and analytics of the respective P&L’s
  • Develop, communicate and monitor financial KPI’s to ensure projected Net Sales, Gross to Net (GTN) and Margin targets by brand and customer
  • Prepare the timely and accurate development of the budget/LE’s. Prepare related CDT review decks for budget/LE’s.
  • Financial support for related Commercial Special projects (CBP implementation, Customer and product Hierarchies, MDM, and all Sr. Management Special projects).
  • Supervise Customer Payment Process, Customer Price List & preparation of Customer P&L’s.


Basic qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant Accounting/Financial experience including support of a commercial team


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA certification or MBA
  • Previous experience with Commercial Finance
  • CPG industry experience

  • Advanced PC skills utilizing current business software.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to clearly present financial issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and set priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute tasks independently
  • Interactive personal skills  that fit a team environment
