Position Purpose:


The Academic Affairs Specialist is part of the Brazil Professional & Veterinary Affairs team and is responsible for leading the execution of a complete, integrated program for Hill’s at Veterinary Colleges to build relationships, educate and influence faculty, house officers and students resulting in Hill’s products by current and future veterinarians.

Will have a very influential role as the ‘face of Hill’s’ with academia key thought leaders and will be responsible for executing engagement plan with them. Plays a very important role in education, most important in training 3d party partners (distributors/wholesalers) with special focus in the area where targeted schools are located

This position will report to the Profession and Veterinary Affairs Leader of Brazil


Main Responsibilities:


Implement vet school strategy


Schools selection and planning:

·    Map the main universities and select the ones to target as by strategy

·    Map and identify the top key thought leaders (KTL) in main areas of  interest to Hill’s: clinical nutrition, feline medicine and the top 5 disease categories(derm, GI, urinary, renal and weight);

·    Create annual plan for schools visits by academic affairs function and VTRs for engagement and provision of technical materials in all targeted universities


Execution on the ground :

·    Execute visits  to engage and educate students, residents, veterinarians and faculty;

·    Develop and deliver continuing education to stimulate the interest in clinical nutrition with the students;

·    Give lectures during academic weeks, discussing topics or cases – conduct study groups or classes for students or residents;

·    Manage students’ rep when present

·    When visiting a school, field visits with customer development team to identify the opportunities and needs and how the school is impacting the area

·    Understand and comply with all relevant policies (legal and otherwise) (welfare, antibribery, conflict of interest..)


Third party education

·    Ensure all distributors / wholesalers  associates complete HPDA training and track their completion

·    Classroom Training, at least, 2 times per year, for top distributors / wholesalers as from commercial leadership team indication

·    Virtual training to cover another regions from Brazil  


Basic Requirements:


  • Bachelor Degree Completed in Veterinary

  • At least 3 years of experience in a veterinary practice (or a similar job) or in veterinary industry

  • Practice experience desirable

  • Fluent in English
