Job Summary

 

The Special Pack Planner is responsible for the coordination of specialty packaging and display products for new production introductions, customer specific initiatives and national IMC programs.  The individual coordinates with the CDO, Marketing and 3rd party contract packaging facilities and manages the timeline for special pack and display projects. The planner is also responsible for planning the availability and flow of open stock and finished special packs.

 

Principal Duties & Resposibilities

 

  • Steward the overall relationship between Colgate and the 3rd party co-packers to help foster a business environment that will result in benefits for both companies. Conduct quarterly KPI reviews with co-packers to highlight performance opportunities and improve overall business relationship.
  • Lead co-packer inventory management of base stock and finished goods.
  • Plan materials and labor required to produce inventory required for all special packs and displays by developing, updating and communicating scheduling agreement to planners and co-packers. Ensure the SAP planning system is properly set up and aligned with the plan.
  • Manage timelines to ensure on time production for displays and special packs through communication with multiple parties (Marketing, CDO, Finance, Retail Marketing, CS&L and co-packers).
  • Coordinate flow of goods and displays between CP and co-packers by reviewing plan schedules, create and consolidate transportation loads and schedule appointments thru STO’s. Create and very deliveries appointments with warehouse and co-packers.
  • Liaise with Demand Planners to ensure the demand plan is up to date with the latest special pack volume and timing.
  • Work with CBS supply planners to ensure availability of base stock on a timely basis.
  • Participate in special pack bidding process with Instore Activation Manager to determine optimal allocation of special pack projects being awarded between the co-packers by reviewing capacity at co-packers and updating schedule  and communicating award to co-packer.

 

Basic Requirements

 

  • Bachelor degree Business/Logistics or related technical field or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience of Customer Service, Logistics, Materials, Management, or Purchasing in the consumer products industry
