Colgate-Palmolive Company invites applications for the Customer Development Specialist/Associate Customer Development Manager role based in our Rogers, AR office.

 

This exciting role provides a unique opportunity to get exposure to both shopper marketing and customer management skills. The individual will be responsible for Colgate’s Cleaners business both externally with Walmart and internally with CP, in addition to managing the Shopper Marketing Plan development and execution for our entire Home Care business at Walmart. This role requires someone who is organized, has experience with project management and works well as part of a cross functional team.

 

Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with Walmart to grow sales, profitability, share improve forecasting by using Colgate’s internal tools
  • Manage Colgate’s JBP for your brands, including touchbases with your buyer/s
  • Lead development of long lead, joint, and "win-win" business plans including innovation covering sales, volume, and profitability, and incorporating customers objectives and strategy
  • Conduct re-evaluation of 5P activities using what-if analysis, and draw upon other team resources (e.g. input from Finance Manager/Supply Chain Manager).
  • Develop action plans to close customer gaps
  • Identify ongoing profitability implications of customer plans for customers, and share insights/solutions with customers.
  • Identify causes of 5P activities performance, both internal and external, to Colgate for Plan Optimization.
  • Develop and pre-evaluate corrective action plans for 5P activities; seek approval and execute as required
  • Own all elements of the CBP plan, manage 5Ps, forecasting and planning from beginning to end internally and externally

 

This role also assumes responsibility for the entire Home Care shopper plan:

  • Understand Shopper Trends by working with Shopper Insights/research/data to help with ideation for growth while delivering Strategic 5P Insight-based recommendations for Walmart and Colgate on Colgate Home Care Products
  • Develop Selling stories that bring to life key brand strategies and engage the key shoppers
  • Activate Insight based Shopper Programs, including engaging with 3rd party providers and agency partners on scope of work, development, creation and execution as well as negotiation on cost of elements
  • Plan Go-To- Market Strategies for New Items based on marketing objectives and provided budget that will deliver/exceed sales and share objectives using multiple tactics and touchpoints
  • Be assertive and diligent in monitoring execution of strategies and be quick to course correct both internally and with 3rd party agencies, if required
  • Ensure Pre and post-evaluation ROI/ROO of all key shopper executions (results vs. objective, implementation accuracy etc),  supporting with qualitative commentary, communicating results to the commercial team, and using the results of promotion evaluations to refine customer tactics
  • Manage display and special pack process from creation to execution with the customer

 

Requirements:

 

  • BA/BS Degree required
  • 3-8 years experience in Customer Development Management roles or similar background required
  • Experience working in consumer product goods or similar industry required
  • Experience managing a P&L required
  • Experience managing a customer relationship required
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of your time
  • Project management experience preferred
