Job Summary   

 

This position could be located in New York City or Piscataway., New Jersey

The role is responsible for bringing user experience and interactive design skills to a new team of learning solution designers responsible for developing functional, leadership and professional experiences that supports individual and organizational growth.  The learning experience designer (LxD) knows how people learn and recommend experiences to help them learn better.   This role designs and develops digital (e.g. eLearning, animation, videos, podcasts, ebooks) and classroom learning experiences that meet the learning needs of the organization.

 

Success in this position requires a blend of visual design skills, creativity, analysis, and customer focus. Across a range of learning topics and delivery methods, you’ll apply UX, design-thinking, and human centered design practices to design a learning UI that supports our content strategy and the learning needs of the organization.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Work with key stakeholders to review learner needs and proposed content designs,  analyze results and document course development requirements
  • Understands adult learners and designs experiences accordingly
  • Rapidly produce multiple possible approaches for usability testing
  • Submit designs  for review and approval by key stakeholders
  • Wireframes actionable learning interactions and iterates designs based on efficacy and usability studies
  • Collaborates with peers to apply and drive best-practice learning experience design
  • Lead the ideation, concept visualization and direction for elearnings, interactive scenarios, game based learning modules, gamification, videos etc.
  • Define characters, backgrounds and animation stylization and color palette.
  • Applies best-practice UX and UI design skills to create proof-of-concepts, mockups, and prototypes
  • Lead elearning shell development scorm 1.2 compliant and build HTML5 E-learning templates.
  • Develop re-usable visual and interactive components to create a consistent experience across a variety of learning topics and authors.
  • Complete updates to course content based on business input (including online review, real world test or pilot participant feedback)
  • Conceptualize and designing  learning materials: brochures, Flip-book,  ebook,
  • Develop learning program communications as needed  -  conceptualize and design mailers, teasers
  • Support existing course maintenance and modification as needed
  • Lead eLearning fixes, troubleshoots and escalates, per procedure, technical issues and works with appropriate internal information technology members or  external  3rd party providers to resolve
  • Requires partnership with designers and developers in Mumbai and NJ.  This may equate to company paid business travel 2-3 times a month to Piscataway, NJ. This may also require infrequent early morning meetings with the team in Mumbai.  NOTE- some months less others more depending on the project".

 

Education/ Experience Requirements

 

  • 3- 5 years of experience having translated concepts into user workflows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.  
  • 4+ years of professional experience working as a visual designer
  • 3+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar UX-related role
  • Experience in developing and implementing learning experiences / eLearning from ideation through implementation and analysis a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JQuery for rapid prototyping and supporting UI 

 

 Areas of Skills

  • Experience applying design strategies informed by learning and behavioral sciences, instructional design, and interaction/web/eLearning design principles
  • Experience in developing and implementing learning experiences / eLearning from ideation through implementation and analysis
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative primary research methods
  • Comfortable analyzing data, systems and processes to drive future design improvements, direction and to quantify and validate design effectiveness
  • Proficiency in design tools, such as Invision and Photoshop, to rapidly create both low- and high-fidelity mockups and wireframes
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize effectively and handle multiple, aggressive deadlines
