Corporate Finance Intern - Financial Reporting

The Corporate Finance internship is located at our headquarters in New York City.  The qualified candidate will be able to work in New York throughout the upcoming school year.


As a Finance intern, you will be exposed to meaningful project work and will receive significant exposure to Senior Management and our overall business.

Responsibilities of the Corporate Finance Intern include performing a variety of functions within the Financial Reporting team which may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Preparation and analysis of a wide variety of financial and other reports including quarterly SEC filings, the annual report and the proxy statement.
  • Retirement Plan Financials (11K) preparation
  • Retiree Medical, VEBA and ERIP Financials
  • XBRL Tagging and Review
  • Support Employee Benefit Accounting
  • Support on Goodwill Impairment Assessment
  • Support New technical accounting initiatives and implementations
  • Preparation of reports and analysis designed to communicate selected financial data to Senior Management
  • Maintenance and communication of current accounting policies to finance personnel around the Colgate world.
  • Research on a variety of technical accounting and business issues.
  • Various special projects as requested



  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Currently enrolled as a first year MBA or Masters student for the Fall 2019 academic year
  • 1-3 years of prior work experience (preferred)
  • Candidate must have a distinguished academic achievement (must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher)
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Prior, relevant experience in public accounting or consumer goods is desirable, as is CPA credential
