Colgate-Palmolive invites applications to the Operations Team Leader position in Morristown, Tennessee. The Operations Team Leader is responsible for effectively managing production activities for a specific area of focus of the Focus Factory and developing collaborative partnerships with Colgate colleagues. He or she must be able to deliver agreed business results while maintaining positive employee relations. The primary accountabilities of the role include department start up, daily production schedule adherence, customer service, area financial performance, and quality, microbiology, Environmental Health & Safety, labor relations, people and team development. The Operations Team Leader is an effective and valuable member of the team ensuring delivery of subsidiary business results in his or her area. The Operations Team Leader works within a structure that requires considerable interface with Planning, Production and Warehousing. The Team Leader guides and empowers teams in the implementation of Category Supply Chain strategy.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Forms, develops and coaches an operations team in a values-driven, performance-based environment
  • Manage and develop the production team to increase capabilities ensuring all employees are suitably trained to ensure production performance targets are achieved;
  • Ensures the development of people, teams, and organizational capabilities by way of training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, delegation, and performance management
  • Leads the team in completing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and keeps the plant informed about operations performance on a regular basis
  • Effectively addresses labor relations issues in the area, as appropriate, according to CP Managing with Respect principles
  • Manages daily people administration activities including timekeeping, vacation, overtime and attendance
  • Ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures, e.g., timekeeping, crewing, vacation scheduling, overtime, attendance etc., to meet business needs
  • Gathers data and identifies a daily strategy which maximizes product quality and productivity
  • Coordinates the activity of operations and maintenance team members
  • Ensure all company procedures are adhered to, taking appropriate further action as necessary
  • Other job functions as assigned

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Degree
  • 2+ years industrial manufacturing supervisory experience
  • Ability to work irregular shifts, including nights, weekends or holidays
  • Previous experience and proficiency with the following: MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Engineering Discipline
  • 5+ years manufacturing operations process and/or packaging equipment experience
  • Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Batch Recordkeeping, and Quality Food & Drug
  • Administration requirements
  • Previous experience and proficiency with SAP and Shop Floor Reporting
  • Working knowledge of Factory Performance and Reliability applications, with specific capability on Autonomous Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Visual Workplace, and Continuous Improvement / Productivity standards
  • Proven knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety requirements, as well as an understanding of EPA and OSHA requirements
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and training skills
