The EOHS Coordinator’s role is to ensure the safety and health of plant employees, as well as the community and environment; and to ensure compliance with all government regulations and Colgate EOHS Standards & Guidelines.


Responsibilities include:


  • Ensure all Environmental & Safety equipment is available, reliable, and well maintained; Provides PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) emphasis/training (safety shoes, ear protectors, gloves, etc).
  • Responsible for property loss control.
  • Recommend plant improvements in the areas of occupational safety & environmental exposure reduction.
  • Promote continuous improvement within all teams by transferring knowledge that has been acquired through formal and informal training to all Hill's employees.
  • Function as a resource for troubleshooting/problem-solving EOHS issues.
  • Conduct EOHS Regulatory Training as required.
  • Assist with MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) documentation.
  • Assist with incident reporting and safety accident reports.
  • Assist with mandatory corporate EOHS reporting.
  • Acts as the primary contact for security incidents/issues.
  • Assist with managing EOHS budget
  • Assist with hazardous and solid waste programs; wastewater and stormwater management programs; Crisis Management and Emergency Evacuation programs; Air Emissions programs; and Fire Prevention Program.
  • Cooperates with agencies providing consultancy for safety, environmental and fire protection.
  • Research, develop, and execute EOHS ideas to reduce costs and to ensure compliance with Colgate Palmolive EOHS Standards and Guidelines, government regulations.
  • Communicates on routine matters with Technicians, Team Leaders, and Managers in person, by phone, and through correspondence.
  • Problem-solving and provide/receive support from EOHS Manager & Operations in person, by phone, and through correspondence.
  • Conduct investigation and root causes analysis.
  • Assist with new EOHS equipment selection efforts for the Greenwood plant.
  • Role modeling the CP Values and Principles of Managing with Respect.
  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding safety and quality standards.
  • Meets business needs by flexing scheduled work hours or contributing additional work hours when needed.
  • Other job functions that may be assigned





  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related required
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing or EOHS experience required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to develop and express ideas.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills/project management skills.
  • Problem assessment and problem solving skills.
  • Computer skills - Strong working knowledge of SAP, Word, Excel & Access.
