Job Summary:

In an ever-changing retail environment, it is an exciting time to be a part of the Customer Development team at Colgate. The Customer Management Analyst has experience in category analysis and is able to provide analysis for reviews and new item introductions. You are able to construct different pieces of data and utilize findings make proposals to the broader team, equipping them with the information to recommend to customers and in account planning. The team is based out of Cincinnati, Ohio and focuses on our Kroger business


Roles and Responsibilities

Category Analysis 

  • Provide category analysis for category reviews and new item introductions.
  • Utilize findings to make recommendations to the Category Advisor/Customer Development Manager with information for customer presentations and/or account planning.
  • Conduct retail store audits to troubleshoot problems and monitor competitive activity.

Brand Strategies/Priorities

  • Understand brand strategies & priorities.
  • Learn to initiate & synchronize brand strategies/priorities with customer strategies.
  • Assist in achieving flawless execution of product initiatives.


  • Clear communication of information and strong interpersonal skills to bring synergy into the functional team.

Colgate Business Planning (CBP) Process 

  • Work with Account Managers to provide information to aid in the development of effective account plans and follow-up on the execution of the approved plans.
  • Working knowledge of CBP process and tool
  • Knowledge of HUB/Customer Execution

Promotional Analysis

  • Provide information to determine the effectiveness of promotions through post analysis, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide monthly category/brand updates.
  • Compile brand and category overviews to support the Colgate Planning Process.
  • Focus on the basics: market shares, retail pricing, trade support, distribution, market growth/decline on a national basis, then by retail environment and customer.
  • Monitor category/segment/retail environment trends to assist in brand planning.
  • Evaluate sales, distribution and trade support of new products, relaunches and test markets.


Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency including high-level knowledge of Excel
  • Availability to travel 25% of your time


Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years of work experience
  • Experienced in consumer packaged goods or similar industry

  •  A self-starter, someone who takes initiatives to anticipate and resolve issues
