Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Manufacturing, the EHS Coordinator secures the health and safety of plant employees, the surrounding community, and the environment. This role drives strict compliance with federal/state regulations and corporate EHS standards while fostering a robust culture of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will coordinate plant personnel and external contractors, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize site safety, efficiency, and team performance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Budget Management: Formulate and assist in managing the EHS operational budgets, tracking allocations for Safety Programs, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), medical supplies, medical surveillance testing, waste removal, and environmental services.

  • Program Ownership: Oversee site-wide environmental and occupational health programs, including hazardous/solid waste management, wastewater/stormwater protocols, first responder networks, forklift safety, industrial hygiene, and medical monitoring.

  • Risk Mitigation & Compliance: Conduct thorough Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), proactively identifying workplace risks and provisioning appropriate PPE to eliminate or mitigate operational hazards.

  • Incident Lifecycle & Reporting: Own the documentation and tracking of facility incidents utilizing the SAP Incident Management System; synthesize data to complete mandatory corporate EHS reports.

  • Audits & Continuous Improvement (CI): Lead internal and external EHS compliance audits. Facilitate routine CI reviews and leverage statistical indicators to systematically resolve safety deviations and standardize environmental best practices.

  • Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration: Build strategic relationships with regulatory agencies, external vendors, and corporate partners to benchmark best-in-class safety methodologies and seamlessly deploy new EHS standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience within a manufacturing or dedicated EHS environment.

  • Advanced digital competency, including professional proficiency in SAP, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Flexibility to adapt to rotating or non-standard work schedules within a heavy manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical College/Vocational certificate or an Associate’s degree in an engineering, manufacturing, or safety-related discipline.

  • Successful completion of the OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Course.

  • Proven project management experience with a track record of driving cross-functional problem-solving initiatives.

  • Strong coaching capability, with an emphasis on knowledge transfer, technical training, and collaborative relationship building.


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $52,800.00 - $72,000.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
