Brief introduction - Role Summary/Purpose:
  • Prepare and file GST returns.
  • Reply to show-cause notices, demand notices, and appeals.
  • Interact with tax authorities regarding audits and notices.
  • TDS compliance, Tax Audit, Transfer Pricing Audit, and Income Tax assessment.
  • Risk management and reporting.
  • Tax Advocacy.
  • Tax technology and process design.
  • Update on changes in legislations relevant to business.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare various GST returns and perform GST-related reconciliations, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, ISD, Cross Charge, and reconciliation with GSTR-2B.
  • Responsible for filing Annual Return, including GSTR 9 and GSTR 9C.
  • Assist internal and external teams with GST-related issues.
  • Inform stakeholders about emerging issues related to Taxation and developments therein.
  • Interact with tax authorities regarding audits and notices and attend hearings whenever required.
  • Prepare and file replies/submissions to routine notices, pre-show cause notices, and show-cause notices.
  • Appear for hearings and represent the company before tax authorities during audit, assessments, and appellate stages.
  • Coordinate with external Tax consultants and internal stakeholders to identify differences in the E way bill Vs GSTR reconciliation and keep back up workings ready for assessments/ audits.
  • Proactively collate data required for GST audits/assessments/appeals.
  • Hands on knowledge to identify differences between different GSTR returns GSTR 1A, 2B, 3B, 2A etc. and to make submissions before the GST authorities
  • Draft briefs for opinions on key areas and sign off on ambiguous tax positions.
  • Draft representations before industry forums/tax authorities.
  • Responsible for handling: Monhtly TDS computation, Quarterly TDS Return, Advance Tax Working, Tax Audit / Transfer Pricing Audit and Tax assessment.
 
 
Required Qualifications:
  • Preferably CA with 2/3 years of work experience or a CA Intern with 5/6+ years of work experience in consulting and/or working in multinational organizations in the field of indirect taxes. Relevant Expertise in GST litigation management (including legacy matters).
  • SAP experience desired
 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Tax Technology orientation.
  • Effective business writing skills
  • Solid understanding of MS Office.
