Summary:

This position is part of Colgate’s Global Engineering Organization responsible for the PTB and Device development and implementation supporting manufacturing. This position may also provide support for Manual Toothbrush, Oral Care Devices and Interdental development and operations. Oral Care is the company’s largest and most profitable division, delivering nearly 40% of annual sales and profit of which Toothbrush is 1.3 Billion in sales. This position supports the primary company strategy of Driving Growth, by developing and implementing innovative consumer Oral Care devices, coordinating the manufacturing readiness of key contract manufacturers, funding growth by driving efficiency improvements in manufacturing and supporting the overall Global Toothbrush Capital Program. This role is cross-functional in nature, working closely with Marketing, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Operations. Partnerships with outside suppliers and contract manufacturers are a critical element of the job responsibilities. As part of the Global Corporate structure, this role supports Toothbrush and Device priorities across all business Divisions of North America, Europe/Africa Eurasia, Latin America, and Asia/SouthPacific.

Specific Responsibilities:

● Lead the PTB (Power Toothbrush) and Device engineering development.

● Coordinate Capital Budget Requirements for Power Toothbrush and devices 1 Colgate-Palmolive Company Confidential Job Description

● Generate capital requests and other pertinent financial information for Power Toothbrushes and Devices.

● Identify and provide rationale to execute capital projects needed to successfully deliver new products and to support manufacturing initiatives.

● Partner with Global Marketing, Divisional/Subsidiary Management and packaging partners, Toothbrush and Device Product Development, and Supply Chain functions to ensure projects meet agreed-upon goals. Continuously assess and communicate project results vs. goals and take corrective action when required.

● Manage and develop Contract Manufacturing relationships and capabilities.

● Build competitive advantage by identifying, evaluating, and championing technical advancements. Monitor supplier and competitor new developments, and highlight to leadership teams to Support Divisional product requirements.

● Lead funding the growth opportunities in optimizing manufacturing processes, components, design recommendations and materials.

Basic Qualifications (Required education, experience, skills etc to qualify candidate):

BS or MS in Engineering or Material Science.

● Understanding of Capital Management Programs and Processes.

● Experience in a consumer products, medical device or pharmaceutical industry.

● Experience with injection molding development and electronic component assembly processes.

● Ability to travel 25% (international) based on project needs

Preferred Qualifications (Additional education, experience, skills etc as assets):

● Experience with electronic device assembly processes.

● DFM, FMEA and/or Six Sigma experience.

● Previous experience in a multinational company.

● Experience coordinating development projects with Product Development, (R&D), Marketing and Supply Chain.

● Experience in electrical component testing requirements.

● Strong communication and project management skills.

● Awareness of sustainability and applications.

● Knowledge of plastic decoration treatments.

● Quality processes and systems, tech transfer, audit skills.

● CAD/CAE programs experience.

● Bilingual in Chinese is a plus.
