The purpose of the Finance Analytics CoE is to drive Governance, Value Framing, Prioritization and Execution of Analytics solutions across the Finance organization to create organizational efficiency. The CoE will evaluate the use of data and analytics (data quality, data model design, best practices); collaborate with GIT and Colgate Analytics team; build and maintain Analytics Capabilities; facilitate trainings and finance employees awareness of new tools and methodologies.

 

Position Summary: 

The Finance Analytics Specialist works with internal stakeholders to identify high value and actionable business questions. They analyze relationships in data to create visualizations and reports that answer key stakeholder questions. They may specialize in data storytelling and driving data-driven decision processes.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the operating model and framework for Finance Analytics; from opportunity identification, evaluation, delivery and reporting;

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, CBS Analytics, GIT Developers;

  • Develop, maintain, enhance analytics opportunities through a governed and controlled process;

  • Provide demonstrations and training of analytics tools as needed;

  • Participate and/or facilitate, as needed, in all phases of projects from defining technical, operational and user requirements, to planning, execution and testing;

  • Establish regular communication/planning sessions with project sponsors.

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related. A Master's degree in Business Analytics or similar is preferred;

  • Min. 1 years of experience using financial data and analytical products and an understanding of the data and analytics industry;

  • Proficient knowledge of Analytics tools, including SQL, Python, Data Studio, DOMO, Sigma, and google or excel spreadsheets;

  • Experience working cross functionally with business areas;

  • Analytic thinking and ability to apply root cause analysis as well as ability to create a good story telling based on data;

  • Leverage technology to deliver and experiment in new techniques;

  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and emphasis on data integrity.
