The Associate Procurement Manager for our Demand services (logistics) and Customization function located in EU will develop and implement best in class Regional Strategic Sourcing Plan, Lead strategic contract negotiations and handle key internal and external partnerships activities across the regio.
This role will partner with Supply chain, finance and other teams across EU to create a holistic, strategic sourcing approach across all business units. He / She will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for sourcing transportation, warehousing and co-packing to address both the short and long term capacity requirements of the CP and Hills brand. They will have responsibility for the creation and execution of contractual agreements in line with CP corporate policies and play a key role in deciding on the right contractual approach for each country.
The individual will also be accountable for driving strategic alliances with key vendors in the category to unlock value for CP and identify innovation that can help drive Colgate towards its strategic goals.
On a day to day basis the individual will support the business in resolving purchasing related activities, risks, price forecast management and critical service/quality issues.
This role will also be seen as critical in providing vital market knowledge for the category across the region. This will be achieved by building and maintaining a strong network in the key countries, attending industry forums and understanding the key market dynamics for the region.The individual will have responsibility for preparing the market&contractual assumptions that form the basis of the budget and LE process and will play a lead role in sharing the assumptions and context to the business.
The individual will play a key role in unlocking FTG through commercial and efficiency initiatives and ensuring all vendors are adhering to CP policies and actively seeking to mitigate financial or operational risk.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Demand Service Procurement Associate Manager plays an integral role by:

Be the principle procurement relationship lead across EU for the Demand organization

Accountable for the Procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and working with the entire business unit to drive compliance and improvement.

Participating in the development, negotiation and implementation of contract agreements with freight and warehousing suppliers and contract manufacturers (co-packers).

Identifying, developing, and managing strategic business relationships, internally and externally, to ensure the alignment of sourcing strategies to meet business requirements

Working collaboratively with team members, business and functional business partners, and suppliers to develop and monitor procurement project plans to ensure sourcing projects are delivered on time and within budget

Gaining comprehensive industry knowledge of best practices, processes, and technology trends to proactively adjust sourcing strategy. Develops cost models.

Identifying metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier innovation and efficiencies.

Support continuous improvement programs with key suppliers and develop supplier “Scorecards” with a selected group of suppliers

Develop, implement and report Budget, LE, FTG

Develop Risk Management platforms and ensure all vendors are screened for financial and operational inefficiencies

Support Responsible Sourcing initiatives, including tracking compliance for public sustainability goals

Understanding of market structure and drivers within freight and warehousing with risk management overview and identifies opportunities and challenges

Drive Supplier collaboration and focus on efficiency and productivity improvements Support the business as it develops its multi channel strategy by providing procurement and market knowledge on focusing on the E-com and customization areas. DTC, e Commerce, etc and champion in innovation and automation

Work with Carriers, Customers and other manufacturers to optimize Freight network

Look at E2E freight (including DP freight) to create continuous freight moves

Understands real estate, labor and temp labor market by region or capable to source reliable information

Perform thorough spend analysis, and apply spend analytics best practices
Qualifications
-
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent local university degree) in Supply Chain, Finance or Economics

At least 6-7 years of Logistics or Logistics procurement practice

Full understanding of Logistics market within different regions in AEA
Preferred qualifications include:
-
An advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification (CPM, CPIM, or Project Management) is desirable
-
Be a highly capable negotiator able to handle significant amounts of ambiguity and negotiating conditions
-
Advanced contract negotiation skills and strategic cost analysis disciplines as it relates to the industry and the ability to evaluate the competitiveness for the particular commodity.

Practical experience with core procurement skills, such as market analysis, contract development and management, supplier selection, negotiation, supplier performance and supplier relationship management, as well as some Marketing specific knowledge.

Practical experience in creating RFP’s (Request for Proposals).
