The Customer Manager manages all aspects of Colgate's relationship with the Customer. This position negotiates with the customer to achieve the company's 5P strategies for all of Colgate's brands/categories and deliver annual sales/share targets within spending parameters. A key member of the Customer Development Organization, the incumbent will help drive superior business results through relationship building, solid analytics, program evaluation, and development and delivery of business plans.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to develop, negotiate and implement a Customer Plan to achieve Financial and 5P Objectives for all of Colgate's brands/categories, and deliver annual sales/share targets.
  • Responsible for directly managing Amazon and other ECOMM businesses, fostering strong account relationships, strategically planning business to grow/drive sales and ensuring profit goals are met, Deliver sales targets within investment guidelines and alignment with brand strategy
  • Develop the relationship across the customer's organization (buying, merchandising and retailing) and build customer intelligence as it relates to Colgate's Financial and 5P Objectives.
  • Deliver sales targets within investment guidelines and alignment with brand strategy.
  • Utilize efficiently available Category Management Tools (eg. Nielsen Desktop) and CBP to understand consumption and shipment data to identify brand/category performance trends and opportunities. . Strategize and recommend promotional plans which meet specific customer needs and company sales goals
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as the Customer Development, Marketing and Supply Chain functions to build business opportunities and ensure planning accuracy.
  • Analyze customer demand, sales volumes, current and future trends, and own the process for assigned categories 

 

Qualifications:

  • BBA, B. Comm or equivalent
  • 3-5 years sales experience in a Customer Development role in the consumer products industry, Recent relevant experience selling to Amazon.
  • Experience in developing strategies and plans to respond to shoppers/customer trends delivering against the commercial goals.
  • Category Management and field sales experience are assets.
  • Proficient skills in Retail Link,Vendor Central, Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Lotus Notes, ACN's Workstation Plus and CBP.
  • Demonstrated competencies - planning/priority setting, results oriented, analytical/decision making, customer influence/negotiation, self-awareness/personal impact, relationship building, strategy/vision, communication skills.
