Job Title:  Associate Brand Manager, Prescription Diet and Healthy Advantage

Job Summary

To build Hill’s® Prescription Diet and Healthy Advantage brand equity among pet owners and the Veterinary Health Care Team, leading to increased recommendation and market share within the veterinary channel. This objective is accomplished by the development of brand strategy objectives, and annual plans through identifying veterinary staff and pet owner insights, and translating them into “go to market plans” that drive brand endorsement and market share. Works with Retail Activation Manager, Professional Vet Affairs and Prescription Diet Commercial Team to ensure excellent program execution to achieve the brand’s targeted strategic/tactical results while delivering the annual brand P&L commitments.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

 60% of the time: 

  • Assists in the development and execution of programs and product launches to achieve specific brand and category objectives (share, volume, distribution)
  • Analysis of consumption and share data to identify business performance trends and issues. Provide reporting and insights to the commercial team.
  • Assists in the planning and execution of the professional media plan, including developing creative assets, establishing media plan with agency partners, and measuring success. Assist in the management of Search, Social, and CRM marketing plans.
  • Manages and adapts content for and, including homepage and category page updates and new product additions
  • Assists with annual budgeting process and monthly CBP discipline to forecast sales volume, GTN and A&P spend and to develop and deliver presentations to leadership and\or executive teams.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with Hill’s global colleagues and with agency partners. Participates in relevant meetings and in Go To Market teams.
  • Assists in developing and understanding consumer research and insights through knowledge of industry trends and of research reports.
  • Manages marketing support for industry trade shows, local and National meetings, and in-clinic special events.


30% of the time (Sales Team Support)

  • Assists in providing sales communication on innovation and marketing programs to the Business Account Managers and field sales team.
  • Assist with the management of RRD inventory to ensure efficiencies
  • Collaborates with field sales team to manage marketing requests (in-clinic signage requests, customer specific tactics)
  • Assists Sr. Brand Manager in developing and delivering presentations at sales meeting and monthly sales team conference calls.


10% of the time (Business and Financial Management)

  • Monitor achievement of Brand objectives vs. target and helps develops strategies to address changes in the business environment as appropriate
  • Manage the assigned A&P budget and ensure timely and accurate submission of PO and invoice payment requests
  • Timely and accurate submission of T&E expenses

Eduction/ Experience Requirements

  • University degree in marketing or related business field required; MBA preferred
  • At least 3 years marketing experience in the consumer products/pharmaceutical industry, preferably with B:2:B or professional channel marketing experience


Expected Areas of Skill:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute marketing plans, as well as generate consumer insight and translate into business-building ideas.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with ability to lead multi-functional teams and participate as a team member.
  • Ability to manage media plans and develop creative assets. Knowledge of Digital Media, eCommerce, and SEM
  • Able to work independently.
  • Excellent skills in time management, planning and managing budgets
  • Proficient computer skills in Google Business Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and ability to learn company specific tools & programs
  • Fluent in English; French an asset
