Job Summary
The Supply Chain Finance Analyst Intern for Hill's Pet Nutrition provides critical analysis in support of
manufacturing operations at our Topeka, Kansas facility. The intern will assist with reviewing inventories
(raw and packaging materials, work in progress, finished goods), operational KPIs, analysis of variable and
fixed costs and support activities relating to vendors, payables and overall plant expenditures including
various significant capital expenditures associated with operational / capacity expansion of this facility.
The role collaborates with the Plant Controller and two finance team members based at the Topeka Plant.
The role would interact with non-finance plant-based teams / partners such as Engineering, Manufacturing
Operations, Quality, and Human Resources. The opportunity will expose the intern to manufacturing
operations including Making & Finishing (also known as Processing & Packaging) of this pet nutrition facility
engaged in the manufacture of premium pet foods, for our global markets, sold under the Science Diet and
Prescription Diet brands.
The intern would also work with the Global Supply Chain finance team based in our Topeka Corporate office
having responsibility for our global network of manufacturing sites and contract manufacturing partners.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
● Assist in everyday finance and month-end activities: preparing and booking journal entries; working with budget
owners to develop accruals; preparing expense and balance sheet account reconciliations; and preparing
detailed spending analysis and reports.
● Work with Plant Controller and Finance Team Leader to prepare accurate and detailed reporting of overtime
spending by reason code vs. a standard cost or budget position.
● Create purchase requisitions and convert to purchase orders after approval as requested
● Monitor purchase order reports in SAP to ensure timely and accurate goods receipts.
● Drive improvement activities in Accounts Payable to reduce transactional costs and increase value-added
reporting capabilities to the plant. This includes working with plant personnel to ensure timely resolution of
vendor invoice queries.
● Participate in capital project analyses in coordination with the Plant Controller: verification of payments and
supporting documentation, vendor spending reports and related reconciliations of purchase commitments.
● Participate in monthly cycle counts, full physical inventories and assist in researching inventory variances.
● Participate in the preparation of the plant’s budget / cost forecasts and actual results vs budget.
● Assist in verifying overall governance and internal controls supporting our Sarbanes-Oxley oversight and
adherence to GAAP and Colgate-Palmolive financial policies.
● Participation on cross-functional teams and special projects, as needed.

Education/ Experience Requirements
● Minimum of a 3.0 GPA
● Have completed junior year by May of 2020

● Graduate on or before May 2021
● Degree focus in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain or related degree program
● Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google suite
● Strong analytical skills, communication skills, and ability to plan and prioritize
● Willing to relocate within the US after graduation
