The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects for the plant. They will manage the scope, budget, schedule and timeline throughout the projects including creating and maintaining documents, evaluating safety aspects and risk analysis for the projects. This will include establishing and maintaining third party business partner relationships and all other duties assigned.
Principal Responsibilities:
- To ensure projects are completed on time, within budget , and with successful attainment of Objectives.
- Completes specific phases or aspects of the project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans and product testing.
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- Prepare interim and completion project reports. Prepare Engineering Project Review.
- Provide functional and technical support to the Plant floor to minimize production and maintenance problems.
- Serve as primary resource to the operations and quality team for issues involving design, process changes and equipment modification by soliciting feedback and driving continuous improvement.
- Apply engineering expertise to equipment design, problems solving, and quality improvement.
- Participate in committees or task forces where necessary to contribute to company goals.
- Development of project scope, justification, and factory/company impact.
- Appropriation preparation including cost estimates, savings, and timing plan.
- Hires and supervises various contractors in the scope of project manager.
- Required to maintain a strong back-up source of technical files, vendors, and manufacturers, and engineering groups in order to respond to needs for new requirements from the Business.
- Lead engineering management of change activities for project activities
- Collaborate with quality to deliver equipment validation through the IQ/OQ/PQ processes.
- Drive the company values and principles of managing with respect in all daily business affairs.
Basic qualifications include:
- BS in Engineering, Processing Technology, Food Science, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience
- Must be proficient working with Google tools Documents, Spreadsheets and Presentation.
- Experience managing capital projects, budgets, and contractors
- Proficient in food safety and sanitation design and practices
- Strong technical communication skills
- Able to support a 24/7 operation and able to work any shift, weekends, or holidays and be on-call
Preferred qualifications include:
- Proficient in ACAD
- Continuous improvement and/or lean six sigma experience or certification.
- Experience in SAP (Systems Applications and Products)
- Food Related Production Experience
- Technical proficiency including:
- Extrusion technology
- Standards, weights and measures requirements
- AIB, FDA, USDA and other regulatory agency design requirements
- Previous experience with bulk material handling systems, including raw materials and finished product
Expected areas of skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prepare and present business and technical summaries
- Teamwork orientation with excellent interpersonal and team skills
- Demonstrated performance of attention to detail, follow-up, and analytical decision making
- Ability to multitask and prioritize duties
- Computer skills including; Google Suite and email
- Works with cross functional teams to implement and maintain CP Best Practices for Factory Performance and Reliability
- Works with raw material and equipment suppliers to improve quality, reliability, cost, and safety
- Prepares engineering estimates, savings analysis, and project justifications for capital projects
- Proficient knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and SPC
- Must be able to bend, climb, crawl, work in confined spaces, work in hazardous condition spaces, work in extreme weather conditions, use hazardous materials and lift up to 50 lbs. on continual basis and ability to work at heights of up to 120 ft., use a mechanical lift, or ladder
- Must be able to work in a standard office environment

Salary Range $79,200 - $111,000 USD
Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
