The Indirect Procurement Specialist will lead strategic negotiations and support sourcing activities for Facilities within NA Hill’s Indirect Procurement Supply.

 

The Indirect Procurement Specialist will play an integral role in:

 

  • Leading the development and implementation of Facilities sourcing strategies to optimize the total value of our IFM partners and non IFM partners.
  • Implementing outstanding global strategies and managing relationships and alliances with the leveraged suppliers so that they are in tune with developments and directions in Colgate business units.
  • Working collaboratively with team members, business and functional business partners, and suppliers to develop and supervise project plans to ensure sourcing projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Reviewing Key Performance Indicators (critical metrics) with our IFM partners and working with the entire supported function/business units.
  • Participating in the development, negotiation and implementation of contract agreements with suppliers.
  • Conducting driven bidding processes.
  • Identifying metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier innovation and efficiencies.
  • Ensuring interpersonal service, quality, sustainability, innovation, diversity, and financial goals are met.
  • Gaining comprehensive industry knowledge of standard methodologies, processes, and technology trends to proactively adjust sourcing strategy.
  •  Partner with vendors and business partners to develop/reevaluate risk mitigation plans.

 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (or equivalent local university degree) in Supply Chain, Sourcing, Engineering, or comparable field.

  • 5 + years of experience working within the Supply Chain or a manufacturing facility.

  • Strong Business Analysis. Utilizing digital tools when solving problems and making decisions. Analyze data  to support recommendations. 

  • Strategic mindset - Understanding the difference between total value vs. cost saving opportunities when making decisions.

  • Business Analysis: Using business tools and information systems when solving problems and making decisions. Using data to support recommendations.
  • Negotiation skills: Planning and anticipation, demonstrates professionalism in all business settings and shows ability to control emotions, mannerisms, and communication style.
  • Partnership and Relationship building. Being a teammate when interacting with stakeholders and peers. Able to handle relationships at different levels of the organization
  • Continuously demonstrate collaboration capabilities and strategic thinking
  • Must be able to formulate and proactively communicate strategies and sourcing process concepts.
  • Good understanding of project management methodologies and e-Procurement processes and tools.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • An advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification (CPM, CPIM, or Project Management) is desirable.
  • Expertise in strategy development for multiple indirect spend categories.
  • Be a highly capable negotiator able to handle significant amounts of ambiguity and negotiating conditions
