Core Responsibilities:

  • Be a peer safety leader, supporting OSHA, Food Safety and environmental and GMP regulations.

  • Ability to identify power sources within Receiving Docks, Shipping Docks, Palletizer, and other power sources within each portion of the position’s systems and perform LOTO according to site EHS standards.

  • Must understand all quality checks and make quality decisions based on guidelines, specifications and SOPs.

  • Complete all required shift documentation associated with position. 

  • Perform daily tasks during a normal 40 hour work week and any mandatory overtime. 

  • Ability to adhere to all site GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), wear and correctly utilize all site required PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, hair nets, and beard nets (if applicable).

  • Complete effective, timely changeovers, following all SOPs for cleaning and product integrity.

  • Ability to utilize SAP, Transportation, and Warehouse management systems.

  • Required to access company email for business communications on a regular basis. 

  • Technician required to be certified to operate forklift.

  • Perform daily tasks for trailer movements in/out of shipping dock, meat dock, receiving dock and drop lots.

  • Technicians responsible for taking required trailers to local scales, washing and ensuring all tractors and trailers are serviced as required.

  • Technician to operate a standard fork forklift and a push/pull forklift to support warehouse needs.

  • Perform daily and weekly MSS, AMs and PMs and sign off on tasks.

  • Provide training and transfer of knowledge to new and onboarding technicians.

  • Perform other duties for the warehouse that may  include line to truck transactions and loading recycle onto trailers along with general cleaning requirements.

  • Follow OSHA and Hill’s transportation guidelines which includes sealing loaded trailers after pulling from dock doors, verification of seal numbers and trailer against BOL (bill of lading) paperwork. 

  • Ability to follow government regulations and Hill’s standards for quality, traceability, and bioterrorism requirements for all materials shipped and received.

  • Maintain organizing expectations throughout the facility for all operational, production and recycle materials.

  • Performs Continuous Improvements (CI) in the areas of changeover management, Asset Utilization (AU), scrap reduction, rate optimizations. Participate in Productivity & Continuous Improvement projects as needed.

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolution of issues for all equipment utilizing troubleshooting methodologies, (i.e. Fishbone, 5 why, etc.). 

  • Point person for transportation and warehouse management issues, SKU's, Rate Loss, Commissioning to drive operational efficiencies.

  • Proficient SAP user to perform transactions in SAP, OPERA, EAM, Aveva, Plant Floor Systems, Warehouse Management system, etc.

  • Participates in Line AM events.  Gathers and inputs data; assists in problem solving for Continuous Improvement, implements improvements; assists in 5S/VWP tasks.

  • Participates in True Zero (Recycling) and understands site recycling expectations and staging requirements.

  • Reports and updates information systems statistics daily to support shift handoff meetings.

  • Understand and comply with Hill’s policies, safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Food Safety. Identify and report Food Safety issues to OTL, Ops Shift Support V, and/or leadership.

  • Operate to KPI targets, production reliability, yield attainment, scrap reduction, etc. 

  • Read and understand online production schedule and impact to daily operations.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly utilizing vertical, horizontal and bilateral movements.

  • Required: ability to pass a road skills test.

  • Required: ability to pass a D.O.T. physical examination and drug screen.

  • Ability to continuously stand or walk inside on concrete and anti-fatigue mats with ability to sit continuously while driving.  

  • Ability to work in various temperature (hot / cold) environments based on season.


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $30.83 - $30.83 USD

Shift premium: $.90 per hour

Additional benefits include vacation and PTO days (newly hired hourly employees receive a minimum of 80 hours for vacation and 40 hours for PTO, which is prorated based on hire date) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year).
