Hill's Pet Nutrition employs more than 200 veterinarians, Ph.D. nutritionists, and food scientists who work every day around the world to create new products and improve existing ones that will help pets live long, healthy, and full lives. The Education Manager leads Hill's external education strategies for both vet clinic and pet retail customers, developing resources to support Hill's Field Engagement teams. Activities center around leading the development and detailed execution of education strategies that ensure::

  • Hill's internal teams have the educational tools and resources vital for their success
  • Hill's external customers have accurate and engaging educational content on nutrition, Hill's nutritional philosophies, and Hill's products, resulting in endorsement for and active recommendation of Hill's products
  • Hill's educational platforms effectively deliver educational content that drives viewership and engagement, and helps to achieve Hill's business goals

The role drives outstanding customer engagement through education that supports Hill's commercial grid and elevates Hill's scientific leadership. It enables Hill's commercial teams to provide best in class customer education that translates into nutrition recommendations.


What you will do

Education Strategy

  • Plan and manage execution of Hill’s US education strategy for veterinary clinic and pet retail customers
    • Maintain an external customer education grid that supports the broader commercial grid
    • Ensure that Global education materials are localized and legally approved for US audiences
    • Implement innovative solutions that allow Hill’s to lead industry trends and provide outstanding customer education
    • Quantify results and make data-driven decisions
    • Maintain Education team budget to optimize effective delivery of educational content
    • Provide monthly scorecard of Education Team progress against objectives
    • Ensure uniform messaging across all education touch points, including social media, digital platforms, in-clinic/store content, etc.
  • Collaborate with US Professional and Veterinary Affairs leadership to ensure alignment with events, commercial priorities, and go-to-market plans
  • Collaborate with Field Digital Education, Scientific Affairs, Field Veterinary, Marketing, and CX teams
  • Serve as the liaison to the Hill’s Global Education team. Communicates needs and priorities, as they relate to educational tools for the US business

Platform Strategy

  • Maintain digital education platforms and tools,
    • Plan content, training, and promotional strategies for Hill’s Veterinary Academy
    • Manage relationships and contracts with third parties
    • Maintain content grids specific to platforms and their audiences that also support the broader commercial grid

Team Leadership

  • Provide leadership, management, coaching, and development for the Vet Digital Education Specialist (VDES) and Pet Digital Education Specialist (PDES), who are responsible for executing education strategy, developing content, and managing professional social / digital platforms
  • Embed DEI best practices to promote respect and foster a sense of belonging for all team members
  • Hire, onboard, and train new team members as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate: DVM or equivalent
  • 6+ years of professional experience in the veterinary field (animal health industry, academia, or clinical practice)
  • Experience and/or training in curriculum development, online learning, or adult learning
  • Proficiency with digital and social media tools and platforms
  • Excellent relationship building and influencing skills. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation - both in person and virtual).
  • Ability to simultaneously manage a number projects and deadlines with cross-functional partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Animal health or pet food industry experience
  • Advanced degree(s) in relevant disciplines
  • Experience leading and managing people

Salary Range $107,760 - $158,445 USD

Pay is based on several non discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
