Scope of Responsibilities

The role of an Implementation & Support  Scientist focuses on the technical support of the European and Global Oral Care Business. It involves the work on new product launches and also comprises ongoing category support for existing products. 

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensuring speed and quality execution of the projects meeting external and internal quality standards, European Directive on cosmetic products when applicable or EMEA when it relates to medicinal products or ad hoc regulations for medical devices.

  • Ensuring compliance with corporate programs which among others relate to EHS, Quality and Sustainability .

  • Validating formulations with EU raw materials.

  • Support efficient execution of assigned projects, meeting the agreed timelines and specified product characteristics.

  • Understand and apply internal and external standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with all requirements

  • Manage the planning and support the execution lab- and pilot batches applying the required manufacturing and documentation levels, e.g. Good Manufacturing Practice.

  • Working in close collaboration with Analytical, Microbiology, Regulatory, Marketing, SC and  Quality to establish processes for supporting plant scale-up, technology transfer, and commercialization of new products

  • Manage and execute stability programs (storage, sample pulling, evaluation). Monitor the data for completeness and conformance. 

  • Set key release specifications based on stability data and generate data to support the stability and micro robustness of the formulas and shelf-life of finished products.

  • Perform analytical measurements (density, pH, viscosity)

  • Document accurately all work (i.e batch records, experiments) in the implemented electronic systems. Follow respective SOPs.

  • Support Funding the Growth projects, raw material qualifications, manufacturing simplification and formula/process optimization.

  • Manage maintenance of technical equipment with allocated responsibility

 

General Requirements for the Position

 

Travel Requirements [%]: Up to 25%

Languages: 

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Any skills in German are a plus



Qualifications

  • Engineer Degree or Chemical Laboratory Technician degree or Technical Degree in Science

  • 1+ years of experience in formula development for cosmetic or pharma products preferred.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English (German would be a plus)

  • Curiosity in other’s work, willingness to develop new skills

  • Chemical and analytical fundamental understanding

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
