Role Summary: 

The Knowledge Management manager has primary responsibilities for regional scientific governance for product claims across the Oral and/or Personal Care categories within Europe and a footprint in an alternate region (Africa/Eurasia) . Reporting to KM Director EU/AED, you will manage and direct the claim development and substantiation pathways to maximize brand opportunities by bridging the gap between R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, and Legal teams. This role is essential for ensuring that new product innovations and integrated media campaigns are supported by robust, efficient strategic evidence throughout the product life cycle. It offers an exciting opportunity to influence regional business priorities through high-level scientific integrity and cross-functional leadership.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead regional scientific governance for claim development and substantiation pathways, ensuring all product innovations and media campaigns for Oral and Personal Care are backed by robust evidence.

  • Drive strategic collaboration with Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, and Legal stakeholders to identify and generate diverse sources of support for claims throughout the product life cycle.

  • Manage efficacy evidence documentation for filings to governmental and non-governmental authorities, ensuring all statements meet regional regulatory requirements.

  • Support technical justification and scientific advice for divisional and local challenge offense/defense, maintaining the brand’s scientific integrity against competitors.

  • Establish operational excellence in claims knowledge management by compiling evidence systematically and driving continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: master’s degree in a Life Science field, PhD preferred or equivalent years of advanced research experience

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience managing research or product development projects within a multinational matrix organization for cosmetic or pharmaceutical products 

  • Technical Knowledge: experience in formula development and in vitro and clinical efficacy studies; some experience in statistical data analysis

  • Technical Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to provide technical justification to diverse stakeholders and to explain technical facts in an understandable way to non-technical functions.

  • IT Proficiency: Strong experience in AI tools, Google Suite and internal database applications e.g. Veeva, PDM 

  • Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in an additional language, such as German, is a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry Experience: Previous experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry with working knowledge of the EU legal and regulatory environment. 

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong conceptual thinking skills with a commitment to rational, fact-based decision-making.

  • LIFT Principles: Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and act as a results-oriented problem solver with a broad business view.

Collaboration: Proven track record as a team player who can influence cross-functional collaborators without direct authority.
