The Procurement Specialist will support and work closely with the Senior Manager, Commercial Procurement and the Associate Procurement Manager in providing support to the Marketing, Professional and IT services spend. This role will assist the Procurement team in partnering with and influencing the broader South Pacific business, by carrying out end–to-end category strategies and market engagements (starting from spend analysis through to negotiation), contract execution, and managing supplier relationship managements as required across all relevant categories.
Main Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of end-to-end procurement strategies designed to improve value and minimize costs
- Effectively partner with key internal stakeholders and contribute positively to teamwork to achieve operational outcomes and promote a positive workplace culture
- Partner and collaborate with all relevant stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure effective and efficient outcomes
- Provide category analysis, insight and support to internal stakeholders and provide category representation
- Identifying and implementing effective strategies to maintain continuity of goods and services for assigned projects, categories and suppliers
- Implement, and execute procurement processes and strategies to optimize and continually improve the performance of the Procurement function and Colgate-Palmolive business
- Lead or support as assigned end to end market engagements including opportunity identification, baselining, RFx’s, negotiations, through to approvals and contract execution
- Provide operational, analytical, and commercial support across any procurement related activities, supplier relationships, escalations, or any other procurement enquiries
- Compliance/process improvement and any other projects as assigned
- Ensure that all vendors are operating in compliance to the Colgate Palmolive procurement policies
- Supporting strategic initiatives, including global priorities, stakeholder, digital transformation and process improvement initiatives
- Contributes to local Funding the Growth (FTG) programs
Required Skills, Qualitifications and Experience:
- 3 - 5 years Procurement experience (marketing experience is highly desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong understanding of managing the RFx process end-to-end, with strong project management skills.
- Energetic and self-motivated individual who enjoys not only working in a team, but also having autonomy to complete your role
- Strong customer-focus with proven ability in influencing, communicating and negotiating
- Proactive self-starter who is highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve results under tight deadline
Preferred Requirements:
- FMCG experience (preferred by not essential)
- SAP experience
- Ariba experience (highly desirable)
