Job Purpose
-
To lead the development and implementation of the Business Analytics Strategy and Road Map for the Colgate UK business.
-
To strengthen and evolve the analytical capability of the UK Commercial Team through the ongoing development of data products, processes, techniques that enable identification and provide answers to critical business questions in an efficient and effective manner.
-
Enhance the quality and speed of insight generation through standardisation, automation and connection of multiple data sources that enables better decision making and action planning.
-
To strengthen Category/ Brand/ Customer performance through the continuous assesement of all our commercial investments and support the development of new business plans.
-
To lead and manage the deployment of our third party in-market “execution” resource (McCurrach) to ensure that the customer/shopper activities are executed with excellence in our retailers.

To be a recognised leader within the commercial team and to seek opportunities to develop, inspire, coach and mentor across the Customer Development team.
Main Responsibilities
-
As part of the Business Analytics Vision/ Road Map:
-
Champion the development and implementation of the Business Analytics Vision.
-
Conduct an ‘As Is’ assessment to determine knowledge and capability GAPs
-
Develop ‘To Be’ goals based on identified business requirements.
-
Conduct quarterly reviews with stakeholders on how we are tracking vs defined objectives.
-

Work with key data suppliers (Nielsen, Profitero, Kantar, Field Force Prom Grids) and key front-end analytics providers to build best-in-class value-added analytics products and capability as per the agreed Business Analytics Vision/ Road Map
-
Lead with Finance to build enhanced reporting capability around consumption modelling, LE planning and CIO assessment (Promotional ROI, Shopper ROMI, RGM, ASP Workshop, Golden Rules).

Collaborate with Retail Marketing and Consumer Marketing to build standardised templates and processes around Revenue Growth Management, Innovation Gateway and local GTM meetings.
-
Lead the UK Commercial Team CIO processes, strengthening the ROI/ROMI approach & mindset, leading the input development, support investment assessment, collate the learning and with the Retail Marketing Managers (Category) develop the recommendations for future implementation.

Become the ‘Analytics Champion’ within the organisation via providing mentoring and training around business analytics. Work with the insights team to evolve the IWIKs and ‘20 Questions’ frameworks.

Perform a support role to key commercial business processeses via the creation/ updating of value-added analytics.

Manage ongoing the:

Development and maintainance of local sku master data that feeds all analytics tools and key business processes.
-
Maintainance and evolution of the standardised promotional grids.
-

Develop & organise on-going / adhoc analytics training for key stakeholders in the business.
-
Be the main point of contact for all Master Data / 1PH issues between UK & GIT / Global.
-
Lead and manage the McCurrach in-house Analyst ensuring all aspects of their development program are completed in a timely and effective manner.

Conceptual understanding of relational database design and the on-going drive to extend knowledge in structured data methodologies (e.g. SQL)

Experience in statistical modelling techniques, unstructured data (‘Big Data’) and machine learning concepts.
