Job Purpose

As an HR Business Partner for UK&I you will report to the AD HR, Northern Europe, and be at the forefront of driving and delivering the HR strategy. You will support Colgate and Hill’s within UK and Ireland. 


  • Working with the senior management team across the client groups, you will have responsibility for driving employee engagement, developing talent management and succession plans and supporting line managers to develop and coach their staff. 
  • You will work with the wider HR team to support organizational change programs, review and develop policies and processes and contribute to global/division HR projects.  


Main Responsibilities

Business Partnering  

  • Partner with senior management teams to drive the people agenda for the organization.
  • Effectively execute HR policies and procedures throughout UK&I and NEH.
  • Using expertise and insight to diagnose talent, organization, culture and capability needs in the business and deliver interventions to address these. 
  • Understand organizational design and implement change programs in order to support these.
  • Coach and advise business leaders on techniques and practices to improve performance.
  • Works collaboratively with expertise teams (Global/COHRE/CBS) to ensure best practice. 

Organisational Design 

  • Using diagnostic tools (e.g. Connect survey results) to develop key programs to address organizational, team and individual effectiveness. 
  • Partner with stakeholders in the business to develop key initiatives to deliver interventions.
  • Implement and measure effectiveness of interventions.
  • Design and develop team building initiatives alongside stakeholders to deliver meaningful sessions. 

Change Management 

  • Facilitate discussion with senior management and/or Division HR to ensure organization design and structure meets strategic needs. 
  • Assisting in identifying the impact from organizational design and highlight to stakeholders.
  • Manage implementation and delivery of change management program assessing risks with Legal Director and HR Director. 


Employee Relations 

  • Partner with management on employee relations cases. 
  • Manage individual cases working with HR and Legal Director. 
  • Networking internally and externally to understand current trends and anticipate changes.
  • Ensuring effective implementation of current legislative practices.
  • Preparation of communication including consultation processes.
  • Coach managers through ER and HR processes.


Performance Management and Development 

  • Lead and facilitate calibration of performance review. 
  • Support all phases of Annual Performance Management Process including supporting managers.
  • Prepare for honest conversations with teams or individuals. 
  • Lead bi-Annual Talent Review and succession planning process with functional groups.
  • Assess the current and future resource and talent levels to determine short-term strengths, gaps and needs.  
  • Provides insight to the business to assist objective talent decisions.

Recruitment, Selection and Hiring 

  • Oversee resourcing needs and partnering with functional areas and NEH TA to deliver.
  • Support business area with competency interviewing and selection decisions.
  • Manage effective induction programs.

Payroll & Pension Management

  • Provide input to payroll and data for finance/legal audits.
  • Manage employee changes. 

Other tasks

  • Participation in local or global projects as they arise.
