The Customer Engagement Lead role is crucial in linking the demand of our customers to Colgate-Palmolive’s supply and commercial teams. You will provide valuable insight into the demand, financial and operational activities to ensure we exceed our customer expectations.

Job Purpose

The Customer Engagement Lead (CEL) has two main responsibilities:

  1. Plays the lead role in the CS&L customer engagement strategy and implementation, in support of the FTG agenda and the AGS objectives
  2. Support the smooth running of the operation by ensuring that products are delivered to and executed through the customer supply chains in-line with commercial grids and objectives.

Main Responsibilities

  1. You will establish relationships at multiple levels within the customers’ supply chain organisations to act as a first point of customer supply chain to drive value add opportunities.
  2. Your role will require you to monitor customer performance metrics to understand service and efficiency trends within customers and identify opportunities for improvement.
  3. Maintaining effective working relationships with customer contacts through regular face to face customer contact will be key in your role. Being the expert in how the retailer Supply Chain operates ensures that the business understands how these impact key processes through the Supply Chain.
  4. You will collaborate closely and continuously with the Customer Development colleagues by supporting the review of exceptions in baseline and promotional volumes. This will be done using sales history, EPOS, post evaluations, input from Retail Marketing and demand planners as well as other data insight sources.
  5. Work with Demand Planning to ensure that plans are reflected in APO & exceptions are understood. 
  6. You will become an active and valued participant of monthly discipline meetings as part of the Account Planning review. Plays a key role in the monthly GAP management process. Work with Customer Development (CD) to identify any challenges with delivery of risks and opportunities and will quantify the volume impact and any SC risk associated with these. 
  7. You will be responsible for the execution of co-pack projects from a planning, production and logistics perspective.

Personal Attributes

  • Attained a business relevant degree
  • 3-4 years of experience in Category or Demand Planning, Customer supply Management with Logistics or Supply Chain experience. 
  • Proven/Excellent communication skills, Advanced Excel, SAP use
  • Confident in English
