Job Purpose
Join the dynamic and innovative Customer Development team at Colgate-Palmolive and play a pivotal role in today’s evolving retail landscape. You'll craft and deliver compelling narratives that offer deep insights into shopper behaviors, positioning you as the impartial category guide and growth consultant for our Buyers. You will find opportunities and orchestrate initiatives to drive category and brand growth, distinguishing Colgate-Palmolive from its competitors.
As an influential member of the broader Market Strategy & Planning team, you’ll craft Revenue Growth Management and growth strategies that resonate with UK and Irish trade. Empower your career path by building meaningful customer relationships based on thought leadership, analytics, and outstanding customer service. Collaborate extensively by using category intelligence and shopper-centric insights to provide outstanding category services in the ever-changing market
What you will do
- Identify & develop (shopper insight led) category & brand growth plans and customer propositions that grow our customers’ business and increase Colgate-Palmolive market share.
- Build & develop independent relationships with customers, establishing Colgate-Palmolive as the go to key partner for objective category & shopper insights.
- Proactively identify commercial opportunities. Work with Customer Development & Marketing Teams to implement solid 5P recommendations & tactics that drive growth.
- Develop a consistent category management approach, leading and utilising the tools crafted to enable Colgate-Palmolive to provide outstanding approach to key touch points with customers (Range review, planograms etc.)
- Work cross functionally to develop and externalise category strategies for Dental & Washing & bathing to unlock category growth for Colgate-Palmolive and our retail partners. Provide key input into the direction & implementation of NPD.
- Share category expertise across the wider business community to deepen customer & category understanding.
- Adapt, implement & champion ongoing dialogue & execution of our Category Growth Drivers with customers. Develop customer specific growth plans (internally and externally).
- Ensure outstanding category development principles are delivered day in, day out.
Who you are
- A storyteller – you can interpret data & insights, and optimally turn them into fact-based stories that will drive discussion & action. You can optimally deliver these stores both internally and externally.
- You can connect the dots – by using multiple data sources, trends, business strategies & a little bit of instinct, you develop category insights and use these insights to identify unmet opportunities & make recommendations for growth
- You are a shopper champion – you put the shopper at the heart of everything you do and improve category sales potential through a shopper-centric approach.
- Your track record demonstrates ability to deliver category & customer business plans that benefit both our business and customers.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Full proficiency in a wide range of data sources (Nielsen & Kantar plus loyalty card data).
- Solid understanding of UK retailers and strong commercial understanding
- 4+ years category or customer management experience (or other relevant experience)
- Proficient in space planning tools
