Job Purpose


The Brand Manager for Amazon Europe is responsible for the Oral Care product development grid of Pan-EU SKUs which are sold throughout the eight european markets where Colgate have a relationship with Amazon.  Using all the tools available to them and working alongside our digital insights team they are the experts on the Amazon shopper and category and are integrated within the Brand Marketing teams at European Division to take insights and turn them into strategic and commercially viable product ranges to be sold through Amazon.  This person will also work very closely with the global innovation and packaging teams throughout Colgate to take learnings from other markets and implement them into Europe.  


The person will also be responsible for the lower funnel digital marketing with Amazon Advertising, working closely with our agency to ensure share of voice is maintained for Colgate-Palmolive brands in Oral Care throughout the eight Amazon countries.  Although the day to day running of the advertising will be handled by the agency, this role is responsible for the strategic direction, budgets & KPI measures such as ROAS and ROI and ensuring brand visibility is maximised and aligned with the local priorities of the market.  


Main Responsibilities

  • Own the Amazon product development grid for Oral Care, working with the Divisional  marketing teams to build a power portfolio for Amazon Europe
  • Develop Innovation pipeline in line with the brand strategy and plans that is commercially viable for both Colgate-Palmolive and Amazon Lead the 5P development of Amazon specific innovation
  • Work with the Brand teams and Customer Development Organisation to maximise the margin opportunity for Colgate-Palmolive throughout Europe.  
  • Work alongside the Amazon Customer Development teams centrally, globally and within the markets to develop products which meet their needs and ensure best in class product activation on Amazon.  
  • Own the lower funnel search media strategy with Amazon Advertising and relationship with the Agency.  
  • Ensure Colgate-Palmolive brands maintain a high share of voice whilst meeting KPIs such as ROI and ROAS.  


Personal Attributes

  • Educated to degree level
  • Brand Management experience, specifically in new product development 
  • Entrepreneurial and curious, happy to work at a fast pace with an SME mindset.  
  • Experience of working with Amazon or within a digital retail environment
  • Has a good understanding of digital marketing channels and is able to get brand cut through
  • A relationship builder who can influence cross functional teams in multiple markets to bring their vision to life
  • Commercially astute and able to see things from the perspective of Colgate and Amazon.
